The House voted 234-188 to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., over her remarks related to Israel and Palestinians. Twenty two Democrats joined Republicans in voting to formally rebuke Tlaib for her comments.
The measure, which accuses Tlaib of "promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel," is the second attempt to formally punish Tlaib over her comments about the war.
Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, has made several controversial comments about the war. She has defended her comments and says she is simply availing herself of freedom of speech.
Censure is a symbolic move where the member who has been censured is called to the House floor as the Speaker of the House reads the text of the measure.
Members from both parties have criticized her comments, but most Democrats say they do not support censure as a response.
Among the comments in question is a post on the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, where Tlaib shared a video featuring a Palestinian slogan that has been called antisemitic.

She requires more than censure
I’ve never heard a single Islamic say that America is a great country, or that they love our country or Constitution, or say that they share our values.
This is the elephant in the room. Moslems hate America, and are determined to either forcibly convert the US to Islam, or destroy us if they can’t convert us. It says for them to do just that in their holy book.
They have proven time and time again how much they hate us, by both words and deeds.
Islam is totally, utterly and completely incompatible with American values, traditions, laws and hopes for the future.
Along with censuring Tlaib, the House should declare without reservation that Islam is a dangerous and seditious cult, and is illegal in the US in any of its forms or denominations. Relocate those residing in the US to any country of their choice, and we’ll compensate them for any financial loss they may incur.
Better to do this now, before the next wave of terrorist attacks that we all know are coming. The casualties from future Islamic attacks here in the US can be laid at the feet of these guilt ridden, treasonous, evil politicians who let these cult members in in the first place. Old white liberal hippies who hate America as much or more than the radical Islamics.
This means nothing to Tlaib, in fact censure is a badge of honor to her.

To be honest, I'm surprised it's that many given the complete cesspool the democratic party has become.
