Typical pattern that has gone on for at least two decades — start a war, when the enemy [Israel] fights back, call for a cease fire [to restock ammo and missiles].

That’s just delaying terrorism until the male children grow up and the widows have time to make more terrorists.
In war, civilians get killed. To get rid of Hamas once and for all, these people will be saving thousands of lives in the future. They will be heroes. You can’t dictate what to do based on the hostages lives.
It might be enough cover for Biden to force a ceasefire with the two CBGs he moved into the area.
“See, see, they can be negotiated with! Now stop killing the terrorists, Jews!” - Biden Admin, probably.
The funny thing is that none of the Arab nations trust Hamas.
Egypt *hates* Hamas, having just rid themselves of their own local homegrown flavor of them.

First Nasrallah’s big speech that everyone thought was his declaration of war turned into a nothing burger. Now this. I don’t think this war is going as expected for the terrorists. No one is cheering about the murder of Jews any more, just wailing about Israel being too tough and begging for it to stop. No pause. Release all hostages, then surrender or be destroyed.
Israel’s response should be the promise of a swift death.

The operative word is “civilian” hostages. There are IDF hostages as well, which are more valuable than civilians.
Hamas should have understood they were signing their own death warrant the moment they decided to invade the Israeli villages. I would prefer that the Israelis try to find a solution that doesn’t involve more violence. I would prefer that the Israelis take seriously the humanitarian crisis of the people living in the Gaza strip. Hamas was foolish, along with being murderers and other types of criminals, to take the path they did on October 7th. What they should have done was done more educating the world on the plight of the people in the Gaza strip. Instead, what they did was cause rage to build in the Israelis much like what happened in America due to 911 in 2001 :(
