I was at Burger King 3 days ago, for the first time in 6 months. Bacon Burger, medium fries and drink for $12.49. Rural Western Oregon.

Expensive, but not like the other prices mentioned here.

Did you factor in the free peanuts?

The Five Guys in my neighborhood closed a few months ago. I like their burgers and fries, but it’s too expensive to go frequently.

My favorite was Fat Burger, but people didn’t go after the novelty wore off. Price was a factor.

Five Guys is very expensive. But at least it’s good.

5 Guys is overrated. I’ve eaten there once. Have no plans to ever eat there again.

We briefly had a Five-Guys open up here more than 7 years ago. Went once. The prices were high then, and the fries were horrible...too much grease and soggy. The place didn't last here a year, and eventually became a Moe's, which is still going, but I hardly ever go there either. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food. I rarely visit any of the fast food places. I can make a better burger and fries at home for less. I stopped going to McDonald's when they ended their 24 hour breakfast during the lockdown. Their sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich, and their hash browns were all I liked. I've been retired for 20 years, and don't get up with the birds to ever get to McDonald's before they end their breakfast. The last time I had their biscuit sandwich was this past January, because I was just coming from having early morning cataract surgery.

Yep.

McD's is now Five Guys prices and Five Guys are now Applebee's prices.

Bidenomics!

I recently paid $15 for a hamburger and a small fries at a Five Guys. (I never buy soft drinks—I ask for a free cup for water instead.)

Their hamburgers are much better than McDonald’s, and their “small”fries would be called “large” anywhere else.

Nevertheless, these are biden-era (anti-beef) inflated prices!!

I remember 60 years ago when you could get 5 burgers for a dollar. 4 if you wanted tomato and onion on it.

I remember when a good sized burger was 10 cents.

It costs me about $2.60 to make a 90% lean quarter pound cheeseburger, bun, soda and tater tots at home and takes less time than driving to MacDonalds. I’m guessing that the cost to drive my car to MacDonalds is at least another $1.50, so my net cost is about a dollar.

Sam’s club is selling 90% ground beef for $4.98 a pound and it is really good burger. While there, I pick up a $9 4 meat pizza from the snack bar and a rotisserie chicken for $5. For under $20 I have the major part of at least 10 meals. I still buy MacDonalds coffee while travelling and can’t find a WaWa, truck stop or RaceTrack station.

$23. But at least the burgers are good.

McDonald’s is now “beloved”? Ok then.

I went to 5 Guys about a month ago. What used to cost around $9 is now $19. Not going back.
