On Tuesday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show,” 2024 Republican presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stated that there have been officials in the government who tried to kneecap the agenda of the elected president, such as leaks during the Trump administration, and that he would fire the State Department employees who have complained about the Biden administration’s support for Israel because “They don’t have a right to go against policy. Their job is to implement policy.”
DeSantis said, “I think the issue is, you have a concentration of power that’s been detached from constitutional accountability. And some of that is because of neglect of the elected branches. For example, the DOJ and FBI, a lot of conservatives — and me included — rightfully point out the weaponization and the abuse of power. But you also have the fact that presidents of both parties, for decades, have not done a lot to police that. Congress has not used the power of the purse. So, I think it’s all of those agencies, and I think the question is, are they exercising power without any clear legislative mandate? A lot of the stuff that happens in the bureaucracy with the rules and the regulations, no one actually voted for that. They’re taking kind of vague statutes, and they’re using that to really do policy that makes a big, big difference.”
He continued, “Now, on some of the intelligence and some of the national security, we saw with former President Trump, when he was in office, some of those people worked to kneecap his agenda. He had situations where he would do a phone call with a foreign leader, it would get leaked to The Washington Post. And it was almost of the idea that hey, you may have gotten 270-plus electoral votes, but ultimately, they still

He tried to use the Israel attacks to go at Trump. Discusting.
Central Socialist Government manpower could be reduced by 65 % and the equipment torn out and sold. Use the buildings to store homeless people. Forget about jousing the illegal migrunts....they must be kicked out and Trump is the guy who can do it.
More over those people are civil service workers. He can’t do jack
It appears that this latest “crisis” is being used to crush freedom of speech, freedom of association, and freedom of assembly. Those who had previously opposed such assaults on our freedoms are getting on board this time because this involves Israel. But, once this “crisis” is over the suppression won’t be. Another one will pop up and once again freedom of speech, association, or assembly will be the primary victim.
Woeking to get Niki Haley nominated I see...
See Schedule F— which is why these swampers for life went after trump— the removal of lifetimes of gravy troughs, for doing absolutely nothing.
Go home Ron.
This guy would do far better going back to Florida and being a really good Governor. This effort of moving up to POTUS was an ill conceived notion at this time.
Big talk. He would quickly be made aware of civil service protections and EEO rules. Disagreeing with the boss is not “cause”...
Dumbass...
If they do not like the policy, they should resign.
Is he going to make them sign loyalty oaths?
“This effort of moving up to POTUS was an ill conceived notion at this time.”
Seriously. Ever since Obama every politician thinks he can “make a run at it” as soon as they get a smidgen of nationwide recognition, when they should be building a lifetime of accomplishment before the thought even enters their head.
If this is the case, then Vindman should have been fired and prosecuted.
It would be his State Department. He could do as he wished.
I hate to say it, but it can also be true that someone is too young to be President. Some wisdom and comfort in your own skin and beliefs comes with age.
They say you can be too old but you can also be too young.
This does not apply to RATs though. It is always about their agenda and the people they put in their political jobs is answerable to those running the agenda. Young, old, brain dead, perverted, demented. Doesn’t matter to them. As long as they stay in line with their sick agenda.
RE: “They have no right to contradict policy”
Let’s amend that a little — They DO have the right to contradict policy ( they won’t be jailed or prosecuted for that ). That’s protected by our first amendment.
But they sure as hell don’t have the right to keep their job. They can always find work in places that support their political beliefs.
Well, if DeSantis doesn’t have a hurricane to raise his staff against, he has to go to a lower level to unleash.
Gotta kiss the ring, how pathetic
