The government meaning the courts and liberal lawmakers are the ones who defunded it. It wasn't a recent action it began in the late 1960 and early 70's. atients were literally booted out of secure mental health facilities. Most were harmless simply unable to care for themselves. They because street people the homeless. Others with more violent dispositions were turned out as well. Their faces show up regularly on arrest reports. Judge order them jailed 90-365 days and are released.
The real horror in this is these new patients rights laws also took families out of any say as to if a committal was needed and many times themselves became target of the violent patients wrath. In mental health family has no legal say PERIOD. You can sign for surgeries and even end of life measures for a spouse or next of kin but you can not have anyone committed the government agencies have to do that.
It's not an opposition to funding issue it is a bleeding heart liberal created disaster.
Ahh. Thanks for clarifying.
NRA trains firearms instructors. In Maine you used to need and NRA certificate to get a CCL. Now it’s constitutional carry.
Press conference now. The cops will tell us what a great job they did.
No, no we don’t. But if someone is hearing voices, then that person doesn’t need to be walking around free.
Love the ASL gal - she’s the star of the show.
Governor is saying what a great job the cops did.
The cops (1) didn’t prevent it from happening (2) didn’t save one life from the killer’s rampage, (3) let him get away, and (4) didn’t “catch” him, but found him dead two days after he killed himself, a mile from his car.
👍🏻👍🏻
And he took eighteen people, who were out having a good time, with him. SMH.
Am relieved that he can’t hurt anyone anymore. May all of the survivors and the loved ones of those who were murdered and his family be comforted by our Heavenly Father.
The sign language person is very expressive.
Now bragging about what a great search they did. A mile from where the car was, near where he worked.
Not to disparage law enforcement, but again they arrived after the fact. The first line of defense is the individual. If Maine had permitless carry, the severity of the situation may have been lessened.
Chalk up another failure of our mental health professionals.
Keystone Cops
I got a notification on my phone from one of the commie news services using the words “gunman” and “manhunt.”
The HAs (that’s what us deaf people call Hearing Aids) let him hear the voices in his head much more clearly. 😵💫
I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice how enthusiastically she performs her job.
Geraldo’s news report helped end mental hospitals. I remember watching when it aired and it was horrific. We should have reformed them but instead closed them down.
Maine has permitless carry. But the locations were posted gun-free zones. Maine law says you can’t carry in a posted location that serves alcohol.
