The man suspected in Wednesday's massacre that killed 18 people in Lewiston, Maine, has been found dead, sources told the NBC10 Boston Investigators Friday night.
Robert Card was the subject of a dayslong manhunt that followed mass shootings at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees Bar and Grille.
The update comes after days of angst as an armed and dangerous man was unaccounted for after 18 people were killed and 13 injured.

He was supposed to off himself. He was not supposed to live and be able to tell his story. The Feds have a shit pot full of those just like him. All they have to do is wind them up and point them in the direction they want them to go. When they do their deeds, they either off themselves or the Police kill them. Dead men tell no tales. And the sheep eat up the cover stories the Feds feed to the media. Just as they did the Covid 19 bullshit.
Maggots like him should be turned over to the buzzards. Azho don’t need a funeral and take up ground space for a grave.
And?
Quit?
We can think up many reasons not to try. Or we can try.
I like how you think, Chuck.
Re: 41 - of course, that’s speculation.
It’s also speculation, that maybe, just maybe, he was “just” mentally ill. That maybe he was prescribed meds and didn’t take them. And that he suffered a profound schizophrenic episode that led to him acting out in a violent manner.
“The bowling alley where Robert Card allegedly shot and killed 7 people has a sign on the front door announcing the premises are gun free.
The location, formerly called Sparetime Recreation, is now called Just-in-Time Bowling Alley.
John Lott Jr.’s Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) noted that the sign says, “We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing firearms in this building and we would appreciate it if you left them in your vehicle. Please keep our atmosphere family friendly.”
Within a mile or so when he ditched the car that night.
He was almost certainly dead the night of murders.
Psych commitment/eval took place in NY.
“The body of a deceased Robert Card was found Friday night near a recycling area in Lisbon.
Police called a hasty press conference at Lewiston City Hall Friday night to announce the news. By then, several people had heard that Card was found dead and that the threat posed by the accused mass killer was over.
Police had been searching for the 40–year-old Bowdoin man since Wednesday night when he allegedly gunned down more than 30 people, killing 18 of them, at two different locations in Lewiston.
Some witnesses reported that Card was found dead wearing the same clothes he had on when he went on the shooting rampage at Spare Time Recreation and Schemengees in Lewiston. Several others said it appeared Card had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police later confirmed the details.
Those who live in the area said Card’s body was found near a recycling center at which he used to work. The area is just a short distance from the boat launch where Card’s Subaru was found Wednesday night.
Several people in Lisbon had reported a sudden surge in police activity in town around 8 p.m., as local, state and federal police continued the three-day manhunt. At about 9 p.m., Maine State Police called the press conference at Lewiston City Hall to announce the news.
“So happy this nightmare is over,” said John Riordan, who lives near the scene, “and hopefully the families can get some closure. It will be nice to get back to some state of normalcy.””

My son and his girlfriend are boarding a plane to Portland Maine tonight. Bunch of things they wanted to do got cancelled because of this idiot.
I bet he understood his future didn't look so good.
This is going to be interesting to see what New York communicated to Maine about that commitment.
And good riddance.
I have many questions, and no conclusions. Your assertions are valid, in that we need to know all the meds, diagnoses, and 'hospitalizations' that this creature had in his history.
Also of interest, how many existing gun control laws might have been violated?
And more, who were his "peeps", meaning might he have had anyone encouraging him?
Also, and before it's too late, I want to know the results of comprehensive drug (legal and otherwise) testing and also post mortem info, especially (and if possible) brain scans.
Reports of observations from neighbors and acquaintances.
Any and all online, journaling, and manifesto info.
And, just for completeness, vaccination history.
Leave nothing out in investigation and timely release of complete (meaning all of it) information.
From accounts his problems began when he was fitted with Hearing Aids from the Federal Government aka VA...
Well said.
this country wil never do this!
It costs $$$$$$.
we already dont take care of all the mentally ill that are homeless.
It will happen over and over.
do you have any idea how much mental health would cost?
the Taxpayers have already said NO every year in every state.
dream on.
chuckb87s post is ….. 💨! Gone.
When I read about him hearing voices, I thought maybe he was being treated for schizophrenia, never mind the hearing aid story-auditory and/or visual hallucinations are common with that particular mental disorder-and those people can be very, very dangerous.
Those who showed really paranoid and violent tendencies used to be pretty much permanently in residence at mental institutions, only visiting family for a few days, under supervision, medicated and where anything that can be a weapon is locked up. It is a terrible mental illness, there is no cure, but now that there are no institutions, those people are out and about-and this carnage is the result of our misplaced kindness...
so your answer is prison or One Flew Over the Cuckos Nest?
Oh sure
