The man suspected in Wednesday's massacre that killed 18 people in Lewiston, Maine, has been found dead, sources told the NBC10 Boston Investigators Friday night.
Robert Card was the subject of a dayslong manhunt that followed mass shootings at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees Bar and Grille.
The update comes after days of angst as an armed and dangerous man was unaccounted for after 18 people were killed and 13 injured.

Think: "MK Ultra"...
Was there somebody (CIA?) really running this guy or was he simply a paranoid schizoid?
Im sorry you had to go through that.
Your case unfortunately is not unusual.there are incompetent drs and hospitals. We dont have much control over that..your wife was blessed to have you.
There is more to this story.
The era I posted of he was still in school. This goes back to the late 1960's when governments starting closing long tern care facilities. I have also seen with my own eyes what a 1900-1950's era insane asylum for criminally insane looked like. It was one for the ones the state mental institute couldn't handle. I saw it in 1984 where I worked it in a nursing home. It was used then as a storage building closed likely in the late 1950's. I would give you the creeps. Shackles on the wall and all.
When the state close the regional mental hospital a few of the very lucy ended up at the nursing home I worked at maybe 50 or so. They got good care, place to sleep, and three hot meals. Otherwise they would have been street people. They were harmless but not capable of self care.
I suspect he was dead by the end of the day, or possibly early the next day. In almost all these cases, it either turns into a suicide by cop situation, or they just off themselves.
Not meaning to be sarcastic, at all, but there's ALWAYS more to any major story that we'd be lucky and dedicated to ever find out.
The MSM/Liberals/Democrat Machine rely on flooding us with tantalizing news and can bank on the fact that no one will ever remember it 3 weeks later.
Good news indeed.
But now they can’t help themselves from politicizing the deaths of all those people with calls for more gun control.
Compliment or Criticism?
If he was a veteran and had a service related disability then VA will pay at least part-then get a lawyer to get him SSDI-he is obviously unemployable-and there you go-all funded-as a case manager, I’ve seen that funded many ways-if we had state funded facilities again-no fed-there would be ways to fund it without breaking the bank-they was before...
I’ve had a couple of workers comp clients who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, but were able to work for awhile-eventually some voice told them to do something dumb and they got injured at work and in one case injured another worker too-needless to say, they were never able to get hired again, so they had to be at home watched over and medicated 24/7-it is very sad to see someone that way, a danger to everyone who has to be confined...
We met in a nursing home we both worked at. She was a CNA I worked maintenance. She went quad while we were dating and married in the hospital. I was bleed to have her 30 years. We both had a lot of great compassionate doctors and a couple bad ones usually mental health doctors or related too that. I had PTSD develop about the same time G.A.D. hit me or Generalized Anxiety Disorder they tried to treat with antidepressants. They ignored the part of my medical history showing one eye functioning, Inner Ear issues, and now what is called Central Auditory Processing Disorders. I almost went over the edge with their antidepressant protocols. Finally one doctor understood and said they can't help you and he put me on 0.5MG of Xanax back in 1994. It toned down the myoclonic jerks to a functional level. I'm also at 50% hearing loss and wear hearing aids.
You do hear things with hear aids which can come from radio interference from another electronic device. To me it would sound like a TV on very low in another room unable to understand words. I figure it's likely a plane going over that and this started happening when I was given bluetooth hearing aids about a year ago. Very infrequent occurrences. But I understand enough radio theory to know it can happen. That is what FCC regs are supposed to cover but nothing is fool proof.
“Maine Gov. Janet Mills told reporters that she called President Biden to inform him of the suspect’s death.”
Biden: “Who?”
Motive?
Why does that matter?
Seriously? Even if he left a note (or manuscript).
Do you think anyone will say, “Oh! Now we understand. And I would have done all that shooting too.”?
New York USED to have laws. They totally ignore them now. At some point we may need to give Manhatten back to the Indians, they can even keep the beads
A man who had just become chief of the campus police at the university where I worked was someone I really liked and admired. Only on the job a few days. He went on a trip and came back and suddenly committed suicide by gunshot.
Someone at work speculated that something terrible was said to him-—maybe blackmail, who knows?-—that he just couldn’t face.
I had never heard of it before but the coworker told me a successful suicide by gunshot should be by “eating the gun” shooting into the mouth. Many other angles lead to the person being mostly dead in surgery and facing pain and disability later. He didn’t think under the chin or against the temple were foolproof.
I hadn’t watched modern TV until last year since maybe 1990 so didn’t know many cop shows have that “eating the gun.”
So how does a person fire the second shot? Grazed and shaky from the near miss and then the coup de grace?
Motive matters.
18 victims.
Mostly males 30 - 70.
One youth.
Two women.
Targets were romantic rivals? Homo advance rejects? Former co-workers?
At this point the 14 y.o. appears to be “collateral damage”.
I don’t know.
Perhaps some acquaintances of Hillary could have told us, if they were still alive.
Many on FR have made the assumption that hearing voices is exclusively diagnostic of schizophrenia but it isn't. And absent a number of additional signs and symptoms, that diagnosis may likely be incorrect. Hearing voices is often reported by polydrug users (including cannabis users), by individuals undergoing extreme stress, sensory disruptions, and some who are best diagnosed as having bipolar disorder.
As a clinical psychologist, I like to follow my training: first review the record, then examine the patient. Neither can be done as yet. Perhaps more will be revealed in the autopsy and if evidence is made available. But it concerns me that this individual's higher levels of functioning do not fit well with those impromptu diagnoses offered.
Often, dangerousness (to self or others) is transient and temporary and most people stabilize in much less than 2 weeks. Those of us wishing to see society solve the problem by locking potential offenders away, might best recall the willingness and certainty of many psychiatrists to improperly and incorrectly diagnose Barry Goldwater in 1964. Or those 100+ who more recently claimed with equal certainty that that Donald Trump - who they never met, much less interviewed and examined - had a "dangerous mental illness", "a narcistic personality", and was too dangerous to be allowed to continue his presidency.
Just what do you think those professionals believe about those of us who supported either or both candidates? Rather than searching for the needle in the haystack and trying to guess which individual may become or prove to be actually dangerous, I think the evidence continues to mount that the greater danger is the gun free zone - and any time I enter one I am putting my at risk. The world has changed and it is not a safer place. Better to recognize the danger and be prepared to deal with it.
RE: Perhaps some acquaintances of Hillary could have told us, if they were still alive.
“a film called The Clinton Chronicles that featured Ruddy’s claims that the gun that killed Foster was placed in his hand after the fact, and that Foster’s body was laid out to give the appearance of suicide, among others.”
