I see the usual suspect disrupters aligned with the United Front have all come out to show their solidarity with the Squad.
One can only assume that those six Democrats voting “Present” were also NOs.

I condemn the barbaric attack on Israel and I affirm Israel’s right to defend itself.
However, I will not be voting for House Resolution 771 today because:
1) It calls for sanctions on a sovereign country. Sanctions are a prelude to war and hurt the citizens of the country more than the government of the country that’s being sanctioned. And ultimately, sanctions create laws that will be used to prosecute American citizens (who engage in trade), not citizens of the sanctioned country. In short, sanctions do not achieve their stated purposes but do breed resentment of our country abroad.
2) It asserts the necessity of foreign aid commitments which I have voted against. Our country is going bankrupt and we can’t afford to borrow money to send overseas, yet this resolution states that we should.
3) It contains an open-ended promise of military support that is so broad that it could be interpreted to commit US soldiers to the conflict. US troops should not be engaged in this conflict.
4) It tends to broaden the conflict to other countries when it would be better to keep the war contained geographically.
Thanks.
Thank you for explanation.
Seems a reasonable point of view, but we do have a special relation with Israel. Have always had that. From the time of our independence from England.
A Jewish banker spent most of his wealth helping finance the Revolutionary war.
Fact.
“ It calls for sanctions on a sovereign country.”
Which sovereign country?
Haym Salomon was a Polish-born Jewish businessman and political financial broker who assisted the Superintendent of Finance, English-born Robert Morris, as the prime financier of the rebel American side during the American Revolutionary War against Great Britain.
“ See line 17, page 4 of HR 771.”
You can’t just say it?
Totally Accurate.
Bump
Throw them out. We’ve got a real problem.
Massie has always been a Paultard. (I usually refer to Ron Paul acolytes as “Paulistinians” in order not to compare the mentally retarded to people with such ridiculous views of how the world works, but I wanted to prevent people from thinking that I was calling Massie a Palestinian, when he’s merely useful idiot for Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups.)
I looked it up, and it’s Iran. Massie and the other Paultards have always supported the Islamofascist regime of the Iranian mullahs for God only knows what reason.
Yes.
It’s like they want to hide the fact they support Iran.
“urges full enforcement of United States sanctions against Iran to prevent Iran’s funding of terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”
I asked because I didn’t know.
It’s telling no one would say.
Nine Democrats opposed the resolution: Reps. Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.), Andre Carson (Ind.), Cori Bush (Mo.), Al Green (Texas), Summer Lee (Pa.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Delia Ramirez (Ill.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.). Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (Ky.) joined them.
Six other Democrats voted “present” on the resolution: Reps. Greg Casar (Texas), Joaquin Castro (Texas), Nydia Velázquez (N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Jesús “Chuy” Garcia (Ill.) and Pramila Jayapal (Wash.).
You couldn't have just looked for the answer in the HR 771 link given in my earlier post #9?
:NeverTrumpin':
I did.
I wonder why you try to hide the fact that it’s “full enforcement of United States sanctions against Iran to prevent Iran’s funding of terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad?”
The sanctions are already in place.
His logic makes no sense saying sanctions are a prelude to war given many have been in place decades.
“In other words, never.”
“Never” depends intirely on the political class among the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza. If they CHOOSE never, then never it wuill be. If that does not satisfy the folks living under that political class, if folks would rather have peace, it will be up to them to get rid of their present rulers.
It’s not that complicated.
Whereas Israel is a major non-NATO ally and Major Strategic Partner of the United States: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives—
(1) stands with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists;
(2) reaffirms Israel’s right to self-defense;
(3) condemns Hamas’ brutal war against Israel;
(4) calls on all countries to unequivocally condemn Hamas’ brutal war against Israel;
(5) calls on Hamas to immediately cease these violent attacks and safely release all living hostages and return the bodies of deceased hostages;
(6) mourns the over 900 Israelis and 11 Americans killed and over 2,600 others wounded in Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israel;
(7) reaffirms the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security, including through security assistance in accordance with the 2016 U.S.-Israel Memorandum of Understanding;
(8) urges full enforcement of the Taylor Force Act (title X of division S of Public Law 115–141; 132 Stat. 1143) and other restrictions in United States law to prevent United States foreign assistance from benefiting terrorists, directly or indirectly;
(9) condemns Iran’s support for terrorist groups and proxies, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad;
(10) urges full enforcement of United States sanctions against Iran to prevent Iran’s funding of terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad; and
(11) stands ready to assist Israel with emergency resupply and other security, diplomatic, and intelligence support.
