The person of interest in the Maine mass shooting on Wednesday evening liked a number of posts from right-wing and conservative figures, according to screen grabs from his social media accounts.
Maine State Police have published the identity of a person of interest in the major incident. Robert Card, 40, was described by police as a firearms instructor believed to be in the Army Reserve and assigned to a training facility in Saco, Maine. He remains at large and is said to be "armed and dangerous."
Card's Facebook and X, formerly Twitter, accounts have now been deactivated. It is unclear if Card was responsible or if they were suspended by X and Meta. According to screen grabs and videos from what is allegedly Card's Facebook page, he finished a 20-year career in the army earlier this year. Newsweek is unable to verify this information at this time.
A video of Card's X account, using the username @RobertC20041800, shows he was interested in right-wing figures. His "liked" tweets include content published by Donald Trump Jnr., Tucker Carlson and Dinesh D'Souza. He also liked tweets by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan, according to the screenshots.
Card liked a tweet from the former president's son regarding trans and non-binary "mass shooters" from March this year, which reads: "Given the incredible rise of trans/non-binary mass shooters in the last few years… by far the largest group committing as a percentage of population… maybe, rather than talking about guns we should be talking about lunatics pushing their gender affirming bullsh*t on our kids?"
Another tweet he liked, from Tucker Carlson…reads: "The trans movement, it turns out, is the mirror image of Christianity, and therefore its natural enemy. People who believe they're God can't stand to be reminded that they're not."

“like” on Facebook is the only way you can leave an emoji, pro or con. ...There is no “dislike” nor is there a “disagree.”... So you have to like and pull down the emoji options to leave an angry emoji or a laughing one (which can be contradictory as they can be taken to mean as either enjoying or mocking what you are responding to.)

I don’t think so. The guy was a raving mental case that, as usual, nobody took seriously enough.
He had threatened to shoot up his reservist base, he was hearing voices, he had been in a mental hospital for two weeks this summer, he made threats…but just like all the other crazy mass killers (the trans ones especially) he was allowed to go his merry way until he took out a whole crowd of innocent people.
One of the shooting locations was at a bowling alley.
