The sad truth is that some people in our party are stupid. Statistically, that is inevitable since the parties are about evenly split. When you have 50% of the population, you’re going to have a certain percentage of the idiots. Well, the Republican Party is undoubtedly statistically within the band of normal, because we sure have our share of nitwits. And I’m tired of them.

The reality is that we somehow managed to get a Speaker last January and that Speaker was imperfect. Kevin McCarthy was not the guy I wanted for the job in the abstract. He was not doing everything I wanted him to do. But you know what he wasn’t doing? He wasn’t being a Democrat. He was being an obstacle to Biden’s unilateral control over two branches of the government. And when you fail to win elections – I can’t even deal with people who are going to insist that we really won even though we didn’t, which I know because of who’s in office and who isn’t – you don’t get everything you want.

This is why I prefer to win elections. Of course, winning elections requires that you do things that are consistent with winning elections. One of those is to not look like a bunch of clowns wrestling in Jell-O. The GOP can’t elect a Speaker because of a tiny minority of backbench tools, for a variety of stupid reasons, is working with the Democrats to ensure we can’t elect a new imperfect but adequate Speaker. How did this happen? Because a tiny minority led by Florida Beavis worked with the Democrats and tossed out our imperfect but adequate, Trump-endorsed Speaker. SNIP>>>>>

"Florida Beavis" now that's a funny moniker. LMAO
That's a great plan! Let's do the same dumb thing (accepting RINOs) over and over again! Let's never ever rock the boat.
Correct he was being a Democrat assistant. GOPe RINOs do not play Democrats for goodness sakes, they prefer to be assistants. They view Democrats as their betters.
Kurt, like Bud Light, just keeps getting it wrong anymore.
Coulda fooled me.
I’m seeing cowboys turned fiction novelists now being considered gospel on doomsday.
I don’t need any more indications that the end of the totalitarianism is coming sooner rather than later yet they keep on coming.
A cheap shot at Matt Gaetz, who is a Conservative and did what the base demanded of its elected officials in dumping an arrogant and out-of-touch Derp State Speaker. Schlicter is off his rocker.
The only thing he got right was there are a lot of dumb Republicans, and he is one of the Republican dumb supporters. The simpleton doesn't even realize he is one of them.
Yup. They play this same bull$hit game with the base: They demand we support establishment RINO as Speaker (or Senate Leader), because it’s “the best we can get.” They proceed to sell us out. Rinse and repeat. Lucy and the football with Charlie Brown. Matt Gaetz did something unforgiveable: He called their bluff, and brilliantly used the Demonrats to dump their own puppet Speaker. And yet you have some idiots who think Gaetz was in the wrong.
Your post nails it with the problems that are destroying this nation. Spending that is out of control, open borders that are contributing to that out of control spending, increasing crime, and the trashing this nation. Most likely they will become combatants of the citizens in the not too distant future. We don't know who the heck they are, but there sure seems to be an overabundance of military aged fighting males that are crossing our borders.
This POS commentary from Kurt blames Matt Gaetz as being the problem, and that McCarthy was adequate. Nothing could be further from the truth. Matt Gaetz is trying to get a Speaker who will lead the party, not a Speaker who will cave and give the Democrats everything they desire. McCarthy was the little bitch of the Democrats, and a traitor to the citizens that are tired of both political parties for the destruction they are bringing to this nation while they are being enriched like royalty by the people.
Again, your post is spot on, this in a childish nonsense from an idiot who thinks he is clever calling Matt Gaetz, someone who is fighting for real change that Americans are demanding, a Florida Beavis. Kurt can go to hell in the handbasket he is carrying for his overlords.
I have no idea what you are trying to say. Can you be a little less cryptic?
Schlichter just wants to continue the status quo... accepting squish RINOs as immutable entities like the laws of physics. They are not, and they can be gotten rid of.
But they CAN'T be gotten rid of if you just accept them and continue on as always.
He has a funny nickname for Gaetz and that is his accomplishment for this column.
In reality Gaetz and those brave eight STOOD TALL and insisted on better performance from the perpetual sellouts.
Gaetz and the others have taken immense ridicule from the likes of Schlichter; nevertheless they persevered and said: No more. We demand a higher standard of legislation than just caving to Democrats. We will punish you if you do not grow a spine.
Shame on Kurt, he knows better than this garbage column.
.
Kurt has lost his way. Reading this makes me feel sorry for him.
He will soon join Ann Coulter in the Land of Misbegotten Authors.
All that name calling, a common tactic of the left. This sounds like the cries over not voting for the “electable” candidate from the Bill Crystal types.
Like with government shutdowns, I somehow manage to survive even the the appropriate bureaucracy is not in place.
In fact, I’d say since congress has trended to making things worse over many decades, we’re better off when they do less.
:: I think Kurt is not too bright. ::
Kurt works as a journalist in the journalism industry. If he wants a paycheck, he moderates his words to fit the industry standard for “conservative press”.
...amen, and it now appears Kurt thinks basementBribem got 81mm votes & who cares about election integrity... lousy column.
Lie.
Tell me how does licking RINO butt help? You are the expert.
