Both experienced myocarditis, or heart inflammation, after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. One person received $4,183 and the other $4,934...
The U.S. government has paid two more people who were injured by COVID-19 vaccines as it faces the prospect of being forced by a court to improve a program for victims.
The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which runs the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP), issued the payments to two people who suffered heart inflammation after COVID-19 vaccination.
HRSA disclosed the two payments in its most recent update, which includes data current as of Oct. 1.
Both people experienced myocarditis, or heart inflammation, after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. HRSA has declined to disclose which shots the people received. One person received $4,183 and the other received $4,934.
...
Critics said the payments weren't nearly enough to satisfy moves made to improve the government response to vaccine injuries.
"Almost three years into the COVID vaccine roll-out and the U.S. government has paid out around $18,000 total to six people," Brianne Dressen, co-founder of React19, told The Epoch Times in an email. "It is clear that addressing the collateral damage of the COVID vaccine program is not a priority for the U.S. government."
Facing Pressure..
React19 was founded by Ms. Dressen and others after they were injured by COVID-19 vaccines but found little appetite within the government, despite its widespread promotion of the shots, for helping the injured.
The CICP, they say, is a prime example of a broken system. The vaccines were rolled out in December 2020, and adverse events began being reported almost immediately. But the government did not compensate injured people through the program until 2023.
To date, six people have received compensation. Five suffered myocarditis. One suffered anaphylaxis, or severe allergic shock. The total payments amount to $17,711.
React19, a nonprofit, in contrast, has paid $750,000 to injured people.
While the CICP has paid six people, and has approved 26 other applications for payment, it has rejected 854 claims. More than 10,000 others are pending.
Americans diagnosed by doctors with vaccine injuries are among those who have been rejected, according to records reviewed by The Epoch Times.
The COVID-19 vaccines are covered by the CICP because, under the Trump administration, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) declared COVID-19 a national emergency. That declaration has been extended multiple times, and is currently in place through the end of 2024.
The CICP, lawyers and advocates say, is an inferior system to the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, which covers most vaccines administered in the United States. The latter includes judicial review, while the CICP is entirely run by the HHS, which includes HRSA.
React19 and injured people sued HRSA over the program this month, asserting it is unconstitutional. The plaintiffs asked the federal court to force the government to improve the program in various ways, including adding judicial review and a process to obtain discovery.
"The CICP has over 11,000 claims, 97 percent rejection rate, near-impossible standard of proof, and no transparency in the application process," Ms. Dressen said. "The program is a failure."
More on Program...
The CICP was established by the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act of 2005. It shields vaccine manufacturers from lawsuits, except in cases of "willful misconduct."
Under the law, once the HHS secretary declares an emergency, countermeasures including vaccines that respond to the emergency are covered by the CICP.
Then-Health Secretary Alex Azar issued the first declaration, which took effect on Feb. 4, 2020. The declaration was extended repeatedly, primarily after President Joe Biden took office. Health Secretary Xavier Becerra extended it through December 2024.
"The protections provided by the PREP Act declaration have helped millions of Americans receive convenient and timely COVID-19 vaccines, treatments, and tests. Recognizing this, the amended declaration that Secretary Becerra will sign will extend important protections to continue to facilitate such access," HHS said before Mr. Becerra signed the extension.
The CICP can provide compensation for unreimbursed medical expenses, lost employment income, and, if the injured person died, benefits to survivors.
People have one year from when they receive a vaccine covered by the CICP to apply for compensation. They must prove they were injured by providing "compelling, reliable and valid medical and scientific evidence," according to CICP administrators.
Administrators have rejected multiple petitions that featured diagnoses by doctors and supporting studies. In their rejections, administrators did not cite any studies, according to records reviewed by The Epoch Times.
Dr. Joel Wallskog, co-chair of React19, was rejected even though a doctor said he suffered a "significant reaction from Moderna COVID vaccination."
"The current medical and scientific evidence does not show a causal link between the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and transverse myelitis, other neuro-inflammatory disorders, myelopathy, or thrombotic disorders, including spinal cord infarction,” Dr. George Reed Grimes, a director in HRSA, told Dr. Wallskog in a letter.
Dr. Wallskog appealed the determination, but appeals are also decided by HRSA officials. That arrangement, instead of the judicial review featured in the national program, “potentially creates a conflict of interest,” researchers wrote in a 2022 paper, advising Congress to reform CICP by allowing judicial review or relocating the program.
“Neither Robert Malone nor Luc Montagnier have won Nobel prizes.
As for Luc Montagnier, the most I know about him is that he is a French quack who spread antivax/antiscience misinformation.”
Luc Montagnier was a French virologist and joint recipient, with Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Harald zur Hausen, of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus.

You are correct about Malone however I was thinking about his claiming to be the father of this mRNA technology and accidently conflated the two in my brain. (probably because I’ve been smoking weed all afternoon lol) Anyway the point is Malone is certainly a credible expert when it comes to this topic whether you dislike him personally or not. The scientists and doctors questioning the safety of the vaxx are certainly not “kooks”.
So a person can have an adverse vaccine reaction like anything from a rash to actual death then.
. Like the clearly fake one I saw about an HPV vaccination killing the neighbor's daughter, which contained absolutely zero information that would indicate that it was a real report.
The HPV vaccine has actually caused many deaths. It has been reported and confirmed. Lawsuits have been won as well. The HPV vaccine is like the COVID vax in that it doesn't do a real good job of protecting anyone. For HPV it is a percentage of a percentage of preventing pre-cancerous cells. It is not worth the risk. Just like the COVID vax, it has been proven to not work and what it protects against is so not worth the risk. Life long heart issues especially in the young. I predict that many colleges and universities will be facing many lawsuits in the coming years.
The reportable period for deaths following vaccination is five or six weeks. So, as I said, if someone with stage IV lung cancer dies within that time period, any researcher is going to look at the cause of death and conclude that the vaccine was not involved.
Don't you see this as flawed especially if the vaccine is causing myocarditis and pericarditis? The effects could take much longer than five to six weeks to manifest itself fully and cause serious problems up and including death years later. Just like a serious car accident which can result in someone's life being cut short years later. They died of the complications of the accident.
There is always a chance of dying, thus, a certain number of people will always die within a few weeks of receiving a vaccine. The data actually shows that the chance of dying decreases after receiving a vaccine. Selected Adverse Events Reported after COVID-19 Vaccination. This is because unvaccinated people are more likely to die of Covid, and other causes of death are unaffected.
This is a statistic that has changed dramatically since the beginning of all this and mostly due to manipulation of numbers especially the shift in "with COVID" from "of COVID". In August 2022 more vaccinated died than unvaccinated of COVID.
At the beginning this was something like Unvaccinated are 32 times more likely to die of COVID, then it kept dropping. The question is why. Did the vaccine become more and more useless or were the numbers simply wrong and skewed from the get go whereas treatments were the main cause of people dying. People sent with COVID to nursing homes, put on ventilators as a matter of standard protocol, preventing people from using medicines off label for political reasons. There was and still is no real protocol for treating a COVID infection. When I got COVID back in Nov 2020 I was told as was everyone else I knew that also contracted it to stay home do the usual for a flu and "if it got bad, go to the hospital". That is not any sort of treatment regiment that will result in any type of huge success rate, rather you are sending people into an environment that is inherently germ ridden and where complications are multiplied.
Also, it is not really professional to dismiss anyone who disagrees with you as an antivaxxer. It just weakens your argument and basically reduces your argument to ad hominem attacks. I've been on Free Republic for a long time and I enjoy the discussions. Scientists aren't supposed to be dismissive of counter arguments. Also, it would be highly unlikely of anyone on the side of being against the COVID vaccines doesn't have a point at all especially in the realm of all of the confusing decisions made by the CDC, FDA, Governors and other public officials.
Sounds like you settled for the lesser of two evils, given your posting history.
My “propaganda” is all based on scientific research that is published by the scientific community. I link to original medical/scientific journal articles. I am very careful about fact-checking before I post.
Like I said before, I have never worked for “Big Pharma.” Since you clearly know so little about how the scientific profession works, it looks like I need to explain to you that “Big Pharma” does not fund outside research. The vast majority of research conducted in the US is funded by government. And the people making decisions about which research is funded are all scientists, not politicians.
So Luc Montagnier got the Nobel prize for discovering the HIV virus. He is not the first person to go from being a respected scientist to being a kook. This happened with Linus Pauling, as well. And, clearly, with Robert Malone (or, as I knew him, Bob).
I don’t recall saying anything about how I feel about Bob. That is not relevant anyway. What is relevant is that Bob is fairly knowledgeable about mRNA and its functions and metabolism within the body, yet he chooses to say things about it that he knows are not true. And he only tells these falsehoods to conservative audiences via conservative talk shows and interviews in nominally conservative outlets. I think that he really does not like conservatives. Despite his claims to have invented mRNA technology, he did not. The Nobel prize has already been awarded to the scientists who did invent the technology.
The only source for health related information is the scientific community. This is because we plan, design, and conduct the research. We collect and analyze the data and publish it to inform the rest of the scientific community. There is NO source of scientific information outside of the scientific community.
I have already provided several links to the scientific data regarding vaccine safety. Those links go directly to information published by scientists. The “scientists and doctors questioning the safety of the vaxx” do not have ANY data from outside the scientific community. They are not conducting independent vaccine safety studies. In fact, they conduct NO independent research.
You choose to believe charlatans rather than the information provided by the scientific community. Don’t kid yourself that the charlatans are giving you some inside knowledge. They aren’t. They use real science as a basis for their propaganda and they lie about it.
Lastly, your statement that you smoked weed all afternoon explains a lot. Weed causes brain damage. I avoid that stuff. My education cost taxpayers around $150,000—I’m not going to wreck my brain doing drugs.
“Lastly, your statement that you smoked weed all afternoon explains a lot. Weed causes brain damage.”
It wasn’t the weed that caused me brain damage, it was 35 years of alcoholism that did that. I was self medicating for undiagnosed bipolar disorder at the time and the conventional medications used for that I didn’t find helpful. Antidepressants just caused me extreme irritation, lithium had no effect, and dopamine antagonists like Seroquel just zombied me out like a chemical straight jacket. By comparison weed is much more innocuous and keeps me on an even keel. If it makes me a little stupider then so be it. I’m 67 y/o and retired, I don’t have to be smart anymore.
You come off as having a bit of an attitude like you resent non scientist freepers from questioning your expertise on this subject. If it was just non scientists questioning things perhaps you’d have a point, but it isn’t, many respected scientists and physicians have come forward with their concerns. And many more would have come forward if their livelihood wasn’t threatened by them doing so. Are you oblivious to all these young people experiencing myocarditis?
Since you know Malone personally wouldn’t you have been inclined to call him up and ask him why from a scientific standpoint he would be so against the vaccine? You keep saying you don’t directly work for big pharma but that isn’t what I asked. I asked whether your research was funded by them, a question you keep avoiding.
Looking for Trouble that Doesn’t Exist!
BY Mark OshinskieMARK OSHINSKIE NOVEMBER 17, 2023 PUBLIC HEALTH, SOCIETY, VACCINES
Overall, the vaxx mandaters weren’t the great thinkers and humanitarians they considered themselves to be.
They wrongly ascribed magical powers to the shots, which failed, as had been unequivocally promised, to stop infection and spread or to prevent serious illness.
To say nothing of widespread vaxx injuries and deaths.
Go away, fulminating mandaters: your credibility is gone.

How severe does the infection have to be before there is clinically detectable heart damage, Dingbat?
Will the first sniffles do it?
Or does it start when blood oxygenation first drops from "normal" ?
Or upon droplet exposure through the mucous membranes in the eyes, which are not covered with a (Hit Points +10 against virus) mask?
Agreed. That’s less than a month for “help” to illegals.
They openly fund outside propaganda on the clot shots.
The vast majority of research conducted in the US is funded by government.
As well as a lot overseas, eh Peter Daszak?
Troll.
Last week, my wife and I each received an expensive direct mail, in full color/both sides ad, telling us about Pfizer vaccines:
covid-19, RSV and Pneumococcal pneumonia with the Pfizer website. My wife’s mailing had a nice looking gray haired granny on one side. Mine had no pictures.
Both of us got mailings about getting their worthless tests, to test at home.
