Sobbing Trump codefendant Jenna Ellis flips on ex-prez, says she has ‘deep remorse’
The New York Post ^ | 10/24/2023 | Steven Nelson

A third attorney who falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen flipped Tuesday and agreed to cooperate in the criminal case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia — saying she had “deep remorse” for her actions.

Jenna Ellis, 38, tearfully said she “failed” to do “due diligence” on claims that the election was stolen through fraud in swing states including Georgia, where President Biden beat Trump by fewer than 12,000 votes — joining former Trump attorneys Sidney Powell and Ken Chesebro in also pleading guilty.

“I believe in and I value election integrity,” she went on. “If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges.”

Ellis concluded through tears, “For those failures of mine, your honor, I have taken responsibility already before the Colorado bar, who censured me. And I now take responsibility before this court and apologize to the people of Georgia.”

Ellis is expected to receive a sentence of 5 years of probation, $5,000 in restitution and 100 hours of community service — in exchange for having no contact with the media or codefendants and cooperating and testifying at other trials in the 19-person RICO case including Trump.

“I relied on others, including lawyers with many more years of experience than I, to provide me with true and reliable information, especially since my role involved speaking to the media and to legislators in various states,” Ellis said in a Fulton County courtroom Tuesday.

“What I did not do, but should have done, your honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were in fact true.

You are going to have to clarify whatever it is you are trying to say. I will reiterate a few of my points if it helps.

There is massive evidence of election fraud. Judges wouldn't allow a suit to be filed (in most cases) with judicial excuse making, so no evidence got presented. Not the fault of the evidence.

DC Juries all work for the Federal government, and they *HATE* anyone who threatens to bring it more under the control of normal Americans. They will convict anyone the government prosecutors indict.

Atlanta is also a heavily Democrat city, and any jury from there will also convict on any claim made by their DA about Republicans. Evidence does not matter in Atlanta any more than it mattered in the OJ Simpson trial.

Again, I hope this helps you clarify whatever you were trying to say.

In the case where a country is being overtaken..
In the case where a government is corrupted and evil is at the helm, winning.
In the case where it’s life and death..
Playing fair is for checkers.

If the gop had told the dems they lost the election and they’re not seating senile Biden.. If the gop had fought tooth and nail.. If the gop had said no.. No way.. And took them to task..

We’d be thinking about Christmas
We wouldn’t have 4 million invaders in our country
We wouldn’t be sending our military to be in harms way.
We might not have had Israel being attacked
My grocery bill would be half the amount it is.
On and on..

No one fought that stollen election..
They didn’t like Trump so they sent us all into hard times...

In the case of a battle... A war.. Fight like hill.. Don’t give in.. If the enemy is pulling every trick in the book.. We have to be smarter.. Stronger.. And the enemy has to know they have a fight on their hands.
I am weary of Republicans letting the dems have their way..

You say there’s massive evidence. Ellis admitted there wasn’t. Now Meadows is echoing the same. Rudy still claims but hasn’t produced. While it’s early to file a lot of replies to the charges, team Trump really isn’t talking fraud as much as they are talking it doesn’t matter what was claimed and who the claims were made to but the had the right to or have presidential immunity today so. So in the end regarding evidence, Where’s the beef?

As for DC juries your view is a bit jaded. I will admit they lean more liberal, but that doesn’t guarantee a conservative conviction. But Trump could waive the jury. My guess is he’d rather razzle dazzle a jury.

I wonder sometimes if there should be professional jurors who understand forensic evidence, who want to do the job, and are objective.

I’ve often asked the same question. But it’s common practice of both prosecution and defense to eliminate such jurors.

That’s a sad statement, and I can believe it.

They probably don’t have any competent, objective jurors to eliminate in D.C.
