The Israeli Cabinet approved emergency regulations on Friday to temporarily shut down the Al Jazeera news network’s operations in the country.
The measures will enable authorities to order television providers to stop broadcasting the outlet; close its offices in Israel; seize its equipment; shut down its website; and revoke press credentials for staff.
“Israel is at war. On land, in the air, at sea, and in the mind. We will in no way allow broadcasts that harm the security of the state,” said Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, who initiated the move.
“Al Jazeera’s broadcasts and reports constitute incitement against Israel, serving Hamas-Daesh [ISIS] in propaganda and encouraging violence against Israel, thereby actually harming the security of the state,” he added.

I generally read Al Jazeera every day. At present the site is heavily, very heavily, laden with pro Palestinian propaganda. The thrust seems to be on Palestinian rather than just Gaza or Hamas. They dilute Hamas and Gaza with the larger description as Palestinian.
Previous to the Hamas terrorist assault on Israel, Al Jazeera provided news on world events and Middle East events that was not heavy propaganda.

The irony is that Al Jazeera is generally a heck of a lot better than most MSM websites.
Sad but true. Biased, yes. But much better quality journalism.
Al Jazeera seemed about about as mainstream as CNN until October 7th. It’s anti-Israel bias is no longer in disguise. Same with BBC, Channel 4, Times Radio. PBS was never in doubt. I no longer tune in to any of them.
I find the Indian News Channels to be probably the most objective when it comes to covering International events.
Yes, I forget the names but I check out the Indian media, too.
Does AJ have an HQ? Is it in the USA? If not, why not just bomb it? Why a ‘temporary’ shutdown for a terror mouthpiece?
