Gaetz says those voting against Jordan are trying to punish 8 conservatives who voted to remove McCarthy

lorida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz told reporters on Friday that he and other conservatives who voted to remove former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have offered to face removal from the House Republican conference.

"If what people need is to see the 8 of us wrapped on the knuckles in order to get on to the business of governing" than we are open to consequences, Gaetz said, which includes removal from the conference.

Gaetz said he and the other conservatives would stay Republicans.

Gaetz and Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., argued that the Republican holdouts voting against Jordan are doing so to punish the group of conservatives that voted to ouster McCarthy.

That’s how new parties form.

Yeah, keeping McCarthy was the smart thing to do and let the Democrats control the House as the minority party. Brilliant deduction, NOT.

When the person you voted for as speaker is not running for the job and has nominated or voted for another person, you're a complete piece of trash.

Take Buck for example. There is no way on this planet that his constituents are telling him to vote for Emmer.

I’m with you. Gaetz is a hero. He tore the curtain back. He exposed Kevin the collaborator

And if you are receiving votes and not running you should call the person voting for you and say STOP.

“The 25 RINO Children who voted against Jordan and the will of the people, should be primaried or petitions started to remove them from office.”

THEY. DO. NOT. CARE!!

The lobbyists already have made them rich. They are laughing at their puny constituents.

Well was not his vote against McCarthy a reaction to him and others not getting someone else instead of McCarthy to begin with.

Nope. It was because McCarthy did not live up to the terms of the deal to which he agreed in order to be elected Speaker. Gaetz and the others just held him to the deal.

If you don't see that Gartz and the others were in no position to “whip” 218 votes, then no one can help you

The leadership can distribute benefits and penalties in order to get the votes together.

Gaetz and company had nothing to offer, and having set an example of rebelliousness for the rest, they were in no position to “whip” anyone.

Who ARE these fools amd why are they doing this?? They do nothing. They stand for nothing. Get them out but tape their mouths up before they get a swift kick in the butt and out the door. What bunch of loosers.

“This whole thing is making Republicans look incompetent ...”

Unfortunately, some really are incompetent and corrupt.

Scalise and his 13 RINOS should be expelled for taking bribes from FTX. I bet they would love to have Jordan removed as chairman of the house Judicial Committee.

210 Republicans voted to keep McCarthy but Gaetz and 7 other Republicans voted with all the Democrats to remove him.

Form another Republican Conference with the 8. Then start picking off all that you can get from the current one and see which one ends up with a majority.

You need a majority of the House, not a majority of the Republican caucus.

Yeah, keeping McCarthy was the smart thing to do and let the Democrats control the House as the minority party

Right, that's why McCarthy's last proposed spending bill, would have cut government spending and why EVERY democrat voted to get rid of McCarthy. Okay

House Republicans on Friday failed to pass a short-term funding bill to keep the government open until Oct. 31.

However, more than a dozen Republican hard-liners voted against final passage -- a major defeat for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as Saturday night's shutdown deadline looms.

The border provisions were from Republicans' major legislation passed earlier this year, such as a restart of border wall construction and tougher penalties for visa overstays.

The proposal also included keeping government spending to a lower level while maintaining Veterans Affairs and military spending, which would result in dramatic cuts to social spending programs and other areas across the government.

I concur!

Gaetz is the one reliable voice in the House of Morons that conservatives can depend on to call a spade a spade every time.

The time for “business as usual” is long gone. 33 Trillion is all you need to know!

Since McCarthy raised the debt ceiling, we have added another 2 trillion to the National Debt.

BTW, Pelosi told McCarthy that the Democrats had his back. That prompted McCarthy to say t Gaetz go ahead with your vacate motion, which Gaetz, and every Democrat voted to remove him.

Besides that McCarthy's word wasn't worth the words he uttered from his mouth, but suckers like you always fall for the lies & use the lies to make your case.

You really have no clue at all about what the heck is going on. These Democrat assistants, like McCarthy

“... it was because McCarthy failed to live up to his promises when he was elected Speaker. He didn’t release the J6 tapes, he didn’t return to regular order for budgeting, and he went along with the Democrats in eliminating the debt ceiling allowing for unlimited spending.’”

YEAH THAT!

Gaetz is at 42% approval after the removal of McCarthy and before his inability to keep his mouth shut in the aftermath.
*************
In his district?
Nationally?

All he’s trying to do is save our Republic and keep us from going bankrupt. Continuing resolutions include Covid funding and all sorts of other borrowed money, that will eventually have to be paid back to the lenders by the borrowers (the US population....us).
