President Joe Biden’s approach to the ongoing violence in Israel and Palestine is fueling mounting tensions at the U.S. government agency most involved in foreign policy: the State Department.
Officials told HuffPost that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his most senior advisers are overlooking widespread internal frustration. Some department staff said they feel as if Blinken and his team are uninterested in their own experts’ advice as they focus on supporting Israel’s expanding operation in Gaza, where the Palestinian militant group Hamas is based.
“There’s basically a mutiny brewing within State at all levels,” one State Department official said.
Since Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel, fighting in the region has killed more than 4,000 people, and Israel is preparing a ground invasion of Gaza that is expected to claim tens of thousands of additional lives.
Biden and Blinken say they want to help Israel decisively defeat Hamas, but that they do not want to see suffering among ordinary Gazans or a broader regional conflict. Both have recently visited Israel, and Blinken is prioritizing an attempt to open the Gaza-Egypt border to allow humanitarian aid into the besieged region and let some civilians out.

You are correct sir. The only mutiny between them, is how fast they want to destroy Israel.
No they aren’t.
The solution is simple. Hand out anti-mutiny pistols to all section heads.
Note the spread-out barrels. That should take a bite out of the mutinous rabble.
Stalin turned on Trotsky. He had to send a KGB agent to “find” him. The Democrats operate differently than the Republicans. They are always unified. If anyone dares to dissent, he’s out of the part. So in this case, Biden and Blinken will have to fire the employees in the State Department.
Hardly "united."
Many progressives sympathize with Palestinians.
And many libertarians and conservatives support a non-interventionist America First policy (even if Trump doesn't).

He wants death to America more.
Ridiculous. That would enrage large numbers of his donors and supporters. Try taking the red pill next time.

Israel is losing support around the world and in this country. The hospital bombing last is used as a rallying call against Israel even by those who acknowledge it was an Islamic Jihad errant missile. How do you deal with that? Yesterday the UAE stated the Abraham Accords were in jeopardy due to the Israeli actions in Gaza (before the hospital bombing). The Iranian goal is to destroy the Abraham accords split the used to be moderate gulf states from the U.S. and the Accords. Who could blame gulf states if they began cozying up to the Iranians? They realize what an international joke the US has become. The US responds to this gravely dangerous situation by sending a vegetable and his entourage of assorted perverts and dipshits to help end the killing and war? Stolen elections have horrific consequences for tfe entire world.
In the very early 1980s, I was an undergrad at Georgetown University. Georgetown is fairly well known for its School of Foreign Service, though I was a business student. However, I have always loved foreign and defense policy, so I took quite a number of courses in those areas. One of those classes was a on military strategy and foreign policy with Edward Luttwak, a noted military strategist well before then, and continuing to this day. He was not what you would call a big fan of the State Department. One day, he mentioned offhand that he had a special dream project that he would like the president - ANY President - to authorize. He wanted the Army Corps of Engineers to dig a long tunnel that terminated underneath the State Department, and to have the end of the tunnel enlarged into a cavern. He then wanted the cavern to be filled with the latest and greatest explosives, and to have the tunnel backfilled. He then wanted to have that entire thing lit off, but only when there was certainty that all of the highest ranking bureaucrats from the State Department were inside of Foggy Bottom. Sometimes, it was a bit difficult to discern when he was pulling our leg versus when he was serious. But yeah, he really didn’t like the State Department very much. Mainly, it was because he thought that they were more interested in coming to various agreements than they were in advancing the interests of the United States. On that last point, I am certain that he was right, then, and much more certain that he is correct at the present time.
As for me, while I don’t advocate such actions, I feel pretty much the same way about that bunch of arrogant antisemites as Luttwak did and does. The State Department has quite consistently done nothing since the late 1940s but try to stop Israel from existing, or to completely undercut its ability to be a safe place for its residents to live, and that is pretty much unforgivable given the temperament and desires of the American public from that time until the present time. It is, by the way, just that public which they are supposed to be serving, since they are “public servants.“ Additionally, actions such as those described here indicate a willingness to go against the policy set by their boss, the President of the United States. Putting aside (just temporary and for the sake of this discussion) the fact that Joe Biden and the Democrats stole the White House, Mr. Potatohead is the elected head of the executive branch, and their job is to follow the policy set by him.
Screw the State Department. Perhaps a few hundred resignations of its antisemitic careerists will actually improve the place a bit.
The State Department has been staffed by anti-American fellow-travelers for decades; and within the last 30 years or so has had its fair share of islamists, as well (and still has). A veritable nest of vipers, the State Department.
Yeah, too bad that the section heads are the real mutineers.
According to leaked emails, a lot of the servicemen don’t want to die for Israel.
What we are seeing is a battle between the real Democrats (They hate Israel and Jews) and the public persona Democrats who have to pretend that they don’t.
Josh Paul, a veteran State Department official, announcing his resignation on Wednesday. After more than a decade of working on arms deals, he said, he could not morally support the U.S.’s moves to supply Israel’s war effort.
I see it the same way.
Sooner or later, we'll have to fight Iran. The Mullahs behaved when Trump was the POTUS. But we have Biden. The Mullahs know that they can do whatever they want now.
They are upset over Haaavvvaarrrddd. Ivy leaguers upset over the grassroots betrayal of college foot soldiers. Aside from hating Israel.
I spent over 8 years in the foreign service. In Israel my was the Arrow Field Office Manager which I’d called Irpn Dome. Every said in threat is correct.
