Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is upping the ante regarding Hamas sympathizers in the United States, saying that foreign college students who support the militant organization should have their visas revoked.
Following the October 7 attacks that killed hundreds of Israelis in the biggest act of aggression on its soil on decades, some Americans at institutions of higher learning expressed support for Hamas—a terrorist organization as designated by the United States government.
Nearly 3,000 people have been killed in Gaza as of Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel. Another roughly 10,900 people have been wounded or buried underneath rubble, dead or alive.
"It raises a larger issue: What the hell is going on in American universities nowadays?" DeSantis said on The Megyn Kelly Show. "This would not have happened during World War II when the Japanese attacked us. You would not have seen—you did not see—student groups going out there and celebrating that. Remember, Americans were massacred, too. It wasn't just Israelis, and Americans are still being held hostage as well as Israelis."
"Any of those students who are here on visas, those visas should be canceled, and they should be repatriated back to their home country. That's a no-brainer. Why would we welcome people into this country who are totally hostile to basic American decency and values?"
"If you look at what they did, what the Hamas terrorists did—as bad as Al-Queda and ISIS in some of their worst moments—I think this has even reached a new low," DeSantis told Kelly. "The idea that you would go out and celebrate that as a good thing, that is absolutely the type of person that you should not want to hire. I would not hire any of those people who were doing that."

Colleges love foreign students since they make so much money off of them even if a fair amount are scammers. We need to overhaul the entire student visa program all together.

He’s right.
They're not Americans, so they don't have the same rights. They are here as a guest, under a limited grace period. So if they are openly supporting terrorists, that killed Americans overseas, who are currently still holding Americans hostage, then their right to stay should be reviewed.
Why would we want to continue to give special privileges to them? They did not respect or honor their privilege to be here, nor are they the types of people we want integrating with our society, much less the types we would ever want to become American citizens.
Let them protest overseas, where it sounds like they belong. But they do not have that right here, to celebrate American deaths and hostages, nor should they.
To his credit, his ‘advisors’ are starting to understand why Trump has so much support with the base, and are trying to move in that direction (ever so slightly though). If Trump wasn’t running, the Republicans would be climbing on top of each other to ‘out-offer’ each other on bringing in Palestinians.

Based on the headline, I was going to come on here, guns blazing, and trash RDS for viewpoint discrimination that could just as easily be used to kick conservative students out of colleges for not supporting BLM, LGBT, trans, climate change, covid vaxxes, etc. But if RDS is just talking about foreigners here on student visas, then he’s got a valid point: Why have terror-supporting military-age foreigners in the country?

You know, this is the type of thing we originally thought the “Department of Homeland Security” was going to be used for. When we see all these Hamas supporters in the streets, I bet at least half of them aren’t even Americans. Because they’re not afraid of DHS, or anything.
DHS, if not local, state, or even federal police, should be out there finding the ones who are here illegally and locking them up, before deporting them ASAP. Because if we don’t get a hold on this situation, and tamp this down early, it’s only going to get worse.
Foreign muslim terrorist supporters on the streets of America protesting is an outrage of the highest order.
People who hate this country and advocate for its demise don’t need to live here and shouldn’t be enabled to go to college here.

If the students were calling for all blacks to be gassed...they would be in jail...for the rest of their lives.
If they are American, then no. If they’re foreign students, then yes. If they commit violence, then yes again.
