At one time after mandatary covid shots were imposed, the Air Force was short combat pilots because many left the service. I don’t know what the USAF pilot situation is now.

In the mid ‘90s, one of my father’s first cousins came here, and I asked him what life was like without Communism. He said to me, “same wall different wallpaper.” He was very firm in saying that it was mostly the same people, waving a different flag, and that nothing had really changed. In the ensuing nearly 30 years, I have come to the conclusion that he was correct.
