Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) on Tuesday pushed back hard on former President Trump’s description of Hezbollah as “very smart.”
McConnell also defended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “great leader” when asked about Trump’s criticism of the Israeli leader.
“I can’t disagree more,” McConnell told reporters when asked about Trump’s assertion that Hezbollah is “very smart.”
McConnell called Hamas “a terrorist organization just like Hamas.”
The Senate Republican leader also praised Netanyahu when asked about Trump’s criticism of the Israeli leader for intelligence lapses ahead of Hamas’s attack on more than Israeli towns around the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Trump was not expressing *approval*, it is part and parcel of those on the left to mischaracterize statements and then denounce them. This is an ancient, discredited rhetorical trick first described about 3000 years ago.

I’m sorry to say that Trump’s comments on 10/11/23 in his visit to Club 47 in West Palm Beach, FL, was the first time since Trump appeared on the political stage coming down that golden escalator in June, 2015 that I found myself angry with him. I ended up turning off the speech.
I believe he really blew it, choosing this time to put down Bibi for some seemingly minor slight and also praising Hezbollah and other dictators. I must say that turned me off. Trump blew it IMO.
He’s the only candidate to vote for IMO. I guess everybody’s entitled to blow it once in awhile, but I hope he changes his mind and his tune about the bloody Jihadists and their nasty leaders versus Israel.
