Victor Davis Hanson: Our Post-Hamas Wreckage - Middle East policy is in ruins
American Greatness ^ | 16 Oct, 2023 | Victor Davis Hanson

As Hamas goes, so with it go many of the following related Western pretensions.

The Passions of 9/11, Redux

It has been 22 years since we saw crowds throughout the Middle East celebrating the murder of 3,000 civilians—and since newspapers had daily “idiot watch” notices of American intellectuals defending radical Islamist mass murderers. And now the madness is back again, and we are witnessing the recrudescence of normalizing radical Islamic terrorists abroad.

I suppose the theory is that no one in America cares much about radical Islamists foaming at the mouth, whether abroad or here. And the result is that they are empowered and their defense of murder is growing—yet its hubris will earn an almost-certain response, an anger slowly but insidiously growing at radical Islam.

A Middle East Policy in Ruins

The current Biden appeasement of Iran and gift of billions of dollars in aggregate to the West Bank and Gaza are now, by bipartisan consensus, unsustainable. The only supporters of that lethal madness left are the embarrassments of BLM, the Squad, the Democratic Socialists of America, and the campus crowd.

Their collective hatred of Jews and Israelis was manifested in their delight over the post mortem mutilations of murdered women and children. And why—even before Israel had responded with air attacks—were leftists and Islamists suddenly celebrating the news of the executions of more than 1,200 Jews? It was instinctual, a Pavlovian response.

Even some leftist Democrats were shocked by their own constituents, whom they had created. Biden still might cling to his past destructive Middle East policies (and I expect him to restrict the Israelis within days after they begin to go in full force into Gaza), but the idea of continuing aid to the West Bank and Gaza or of “normalizing” relations with theocratic Iran...

As far as “The Middle East” and I are concerned, the day after the U.N. awarded statehood to Israel, all 6 Arab neighboring states declared war on Israel.

It really has never stopped, creating “generation warfare”.

As historians know, which I am not, “generation warfare” can only be ‘cured’ through the most extreme actions, which all the anti-Israel world leaders rush before microphone and camera, to denounce Israel.

This is all kabuki theater.

I love VDH pointing out a major difference between the Nazis and Mooslimbs— the Nazis admitted to their atrocities only after the fact. While the Mudslimes are loud and proud about their atrocities before, during, and after.

It is tough for the Democrat identity politics party having two of their lopsided voting collectives, Muslim and Jewish folks, warring overseas exposed to the absurdity of one of their politicians from their biggest identity politics collective, Congressman Sparky Bowman of fire alarm fame, screaming to let all the fleeing Palestinians into the US as refugees and others making the political calculation to go with the collective that really is the victim here of the barbarism of the Palestinians At least, Republicans, unfettered by the yoke of identity politics, have been free to unilaterally make the call and side with the truly innocent whose civilians were attacked and killed as the primary military objective of the barbarians.

Thanks Obama

Thanks, brain dead libtards for whom virtue-signalling was far more important than looking into the quality of their presidential candidate. For many, if not most blacks, his skin color was the only qualification they needed. For white libtards, the FACT that they were voting for a BLACK was the only qualification they needed, and weren't they COOL for doing so. These appallingly shallow criteria set our country back horribly and through his shadow government spreading continuous venom through the drooling idiot meat puppet sitting in the White House, continues to expose our country to rack and ruin.

Yes. Obama’s illegal occupation of the Oval Office was a historical catastrophe. Everything bad that has occurred since 2008 is all his fault. America can only take so much before collapsing.

Fortunately, President Trump and his envoy SIL established the Abrams accords. The accords precipitated the Negev Summit of Arabs that matter and Israel

The coalition negates the dependence on the USA and now obsolete pre accord status quo. Palestine was pretty much deserted so the real previously neglected enemy, Iran, could be engaged.

Presently the USA has two carrier groups off shore and accompanied by an unstated number of ships from the Royal Navy. There are reprots of American Special forces deployed within Gaza thought to be rescuing American hostages taken by Hamas. There are separate American Special Operation Forces deployed some where along the Lebanon border.

A third report indicated that one of the carriers had some A 10’s on board. My deduction is that if there are A 10’s to join the battle with Hezbollah in Syria. Then the Special Ops guys will be helpful in giving them ground view guidance.

Syria and thus Iran is under serious attack in Syria.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

Universities have now crossed the Rubicon in de facto condoning their crazed students cheering on mass death. They made the argument after George Floyd that the country must listen to their pseudo-moral lectures, and now they unashamedly broadcast what they (universities) have become—traitors to the idea of an enlightened free society, and kindred spirits to the anti-Semitism, intolerance, and fascism of 1930s German universities.

Better late than never Ping for VDH. A very good article if you haven't already seen it.

The only permanent solution is the two state solution. After 70 years of turmoil, we need a different approach.

By your response, i am to believe that you are not familiar with the term ‘generation warfare’.
We, here in America, had going on a smaller scale.
“Hatfields and McCoys.”

One side is teaching the children to continue combat, and the other side does not.

The two-state solution might work if one of them was located at the Antarctic.
