I figured the abortion issue meant he might actually lose to the Dumb-O-Crat. WTG, Landry!
Good news and needed.
Why a shocker FR HAD THIS
The Advocate ^ | October 5, 2022 | Sam Karlin
Attorney General Jeff Landry has made his bid for governor official, kicking off what is expected to be a hotly contested campaign to succeed term-limited Gov. John Bel Edwards next year. Landry, who is in his second term as attorney general, released a nearly 7-minute long video detailing his biography and hitting on several campaign issues that have become standard fare for Republican candidates, including crime and what he calls “liberal school boards and radical school leaders.” Landry, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, is expected to face Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and Treasurer John Schroder, among others....
dear mr. chad mulligan,
you used the term ‘open election’, then you used the phrase ‘either party’, incorrectly.
An ‘open election’ allows ALL political parties to be on the ballot, not just republiican or democrat.
That is a good news story going into 2024.
Constitutional Carry in 3,2,1.....
Since 1900, there have only been four Republicans Governors.
Benjamin Barnes (IND) | 0.49% | 5,190 |

Patrick Henry "Dat" Barthel (REP) | 0.42% | 4,426 |
Daniel M. "Danny" Cole (DEM) | 2.60% | 27,663 |
Xavier Ellis (REP) | 0.16% | 1,734 |
"Keitron" Gagnon (NOPTY) | 0.12% | 1,260 |
Sharon W. Hewitt (REP) | 1.74% | 18,469 |
Jeffery Istre (IND) | 0.32% | 3,400 |
"Xan" John (REP) | 0.11% | 1,164 |
"Jeff" Landry (REP) | 51.56% | 547,828 |
Hunter Lundy (IND) | 4.91% | 52,167 |
Richard Nelson (REP) | 0.34% | 3,604 |
John Schroder (REP) | 5.33% | 56,656 |
Frank Scurlock (IND) | 0.11% | 1,131 |
Stephen "Wags" Waguespack (REP) | 5.86% | 62,280 |
Shawn D. Wilson (DEM) | 25.93% | 275,527 |
52 to 26 is a little beyond the margin of fraud.
Not a particularly good result, given how bad a job Biden is doing, but it’s at least a win. Bobby Jindal got 54% in 2007’s jungle primary, vs the Dem’s 17%. In 2011, he got 66%, again vs 17%.
Trump seldom endorses without confidence in a win.
Congrats to Landry for winning without even needing a runoff — that was quite a surprise. There’s still some work to do in other statewide races aside from Lt. Governor (which the GOP clinched yesterday).
Especially Secretary of State, where the Republican incumbent is retiring and the Democrats have nominated a radical nutbucket for this important election-administration position.
Next month’s runoffs for that office and Attorney General and Treasurer should be slam dunks for the good guys.
“Well, well, well. Another Trump endorsement, I believe...”
Probably enough to push Landry over the 50% mark. I suspect the NeverTrumpers will not have much to say here and instead spend their time mostly on that war in Europe.
I guess, my only thought is:
“How long do the Dems have to count the votes?”
I can see in my mind’s eye huge fleets of pirogues loaded with ballets heading to the various counting stations. Thousands of pirogues all setting deep in the water, overloaded with ballots.
Clearly an unfair election. The voters didn’t allow the democrats to steal it in the runoff.
Jungle primary - sounds racist and will be overturned.
They should call it bayou primary.
You would believe wrong. Even T doesn’t like his own endorsements.
Special thanks to Mike Lindell and his team of Patriots!!
I understand this election was the first (??) deployment of Team Lindell’s gizmo to help thwart cheating by machine
“Shocker”
Really? Gov. Elect Landry enjoyed being the front runner from the day he announced. All things considered it seems like the citizens of Louisiana have had all the bidenomic’s they care to have. Good job Louisiana!
I might actually start visiting NOLA again. Went there last year AFTER Mardi Gras and let me tell you it looked like the streets were filled with maximum security inmates running wild. It was horrendous! A marked difference between when we visited under Jindal where there was much more law and order.
Don’t let the door hit you Bel Edwards.
