Military authorities say they have discovered the bodies of Hamas captives inside Gaza - as families gathered outside the Israel Defence Forces' headquarters demanding the resignation of prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Israeli military said on Saturday that it had found the bodies of some hostages that were abducted by Hamas during last Saturday's attack on the country.
'We have found and located some bodies in the perimeter in the Gaza Strip of Israelis that were abducted,' military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner told a media briefing in remarks reported by AFP.
The news has inflamed calls for Netanyahu to resign - families of those who have been kidnapped gathered in the Kirya area of Tel Aviv to demand the Israeli government cuts a hostage deal with Hamas, or to walk.
It follows a Jerusalem Post poll earlier this week that found 86 per cent of Israelis believe the attack is a failure of his government, with 56 per cent calling for him to resign.

Two furious Israelis demand that which the Daily mail has as their agenda talking point.
Maybe they should wait until at least we have a Congress
This is absurd. The rescue of any hostage would be a miracle
The other PM would have made the same mistakes Bibi made. But after this war is over, it’s likely that this government led by Bibi will fall because he’ll be the scapegoat.
The left will continue to attack Netanyahu no matter what he does or what happens, so this is just more of the same.
Polls? Sure, let’s run our lives according to polls. I think not.
Doesn’t matter who was running the show, this was hidden for years.
The families with hostages should expect the worse. It sucks, but that’s the shit sandwich that’s been served.
Maybe they should direct their anger at the correct source of their misery?
Duh
Always a lose-lose with this.
Wait until the SHTF in America if anyone aside from a selected president gets in.
They need to complain outside Hamas offices.
They should be referred to as prisoners of war rather than hostages.
I suspect Netanyahu is the best possible leader for a situation like this one. I feel sorry for the hostages, but they will almost certainly end up dead. Hammas soldiers are as cruel as any in the Middle Ages.
“This is absurd. The rescue of any hostage would be a miracle”
Yep, Gaza is no Entebbe.
Bibi has always been Israel’s version of Trump
I feel sorry for the families of the victims. This was the expected result, and Netanyahu has zero to do with it. They are lucky they’re finding out the fate of their loved ones so quickly. It doesn’t diminish their pain, but directing their anger at Bibi is misplaced.
Wasn’t it reported that Biden told BiBi to hold off so the piggies could escape before he went in?
What on earth makes them think that any of the “hostages” were alive after they were taken by Hamas??? My guess is that any hostage had a life expectancy of near -0- from the moment they were taken. The only reason any would still be alive is because Hamas has not finished torturing them yet. People are expecting rational behavior from monsters -— sorry, doesn’t work that way.
The more they weep and gnash their teeth, the happier Hamas will be.
I don’t think it’s all Bibi’s fault. But he shares some responsibility because he’s the leader and the buck stops at the top.
I think all the hostages have been killed days ago
