Hezbollah's chief has said the terror group is 'fully prepared' to join Hamas in its war against Israel as the conflict sparked by Saturday's attack continues to escalate, with Israel warning residents in the north of a possible incursion over the Lebanon border.
Sheikh Naim Qassem addressed a large crowd of cheering supporters waving Hezbollah and Palestinian flags and holding pictures of burning Israeli ones.
He said major powers, Arab countries and the UN had 'directly and indirectly' told Hezbollah 'not to interfere' in ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas.
Despite the warnings, the leader of the powerful Iran-backed Lebanese group - which has already clashed with Israeli forces in recent days - said it was 'ready' and would 'contribute' to confrontations against its southern neighbour.
Barely hours after his comments, the Israeli military warned residents of a village near the Lebanese border to hole up at home and lock doors and windows, saying a suspected armed infiltration was under way in the region.
The alert took place in Hanita, 500 yards from the border and opposite the Lebanese community of Aalma El-Chaeb. In response, Israel shelled Lebanese border villages.
Qassem's comments came as Israel's defence minister Yoav Gallant this afternoon called Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran an 'axis of evil'. 'Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas is one axis, an axis of evil. Everything is decided generally from Iran,' he said.
Gallant was speaking alongside his American counterpart Lloyd Austin after Israel ordered more than one million people living in northern Gaza to evacuate their homes 'immediately' and flee south in just 24 hours.

When has Gaza not been a hellhole? Lebanon was once a nice place too, before certain people took control.
Unfortunately, their former Hezbollah leader, Soleimani, will not be joining them. He’s rather indisposed at the moment on his extended vacation in hell that the Orange Prince funded for him.

1. Hezbollah will, if it actively joins this conflict, also be wiped out as an effective fighting force. He is also not telling us anything new, as it is just common sense that all of the major terror organizations would support each other in attacking Israel, it’s the one thing that unifies all of them. This particular guy should be very careful, because that might be one of the last things that he ever utters on this earth. If his evil organization does join the fighting, I sincerely hope that is exactly what happens.
2. As for Israel telling its residents to evacuate the north, this has been ongoing for quite a number of days. One of my nephews lives about a mile from the Lebanese border, and he spent close to two days living in a bomb shelter because Hezbollah was shelling most of the north from both Lebanon and Syria. Israel has been telling people to evacuate the north for at least the last four days, because they know what is coming. The last thing that the IDF wants is to have to go around rescuing a bunch of civilians instead of fighting the enemy, and the government does not want to see thousands of unnecessary casualties because of all of the rockets that will undoubtedly be fired at Israel by these animals.
3. As for Gaza being a hell hole, that’s not exactly news, either. Rather than taking the multiple billions of dollars that the Palestinians of Gaza have received over the last 18 years and putting it to productive use such as building hospitals, schools, roads and decent housing and sanitation facilities, Hamas has decided to invest it all in terror tunnels and weapons. So it was already a hell hole, because that’s what happens when you have over 2 million people living in a small geographical area and the leadership there refuses to improve the living conditions. The more recent, and more hellish aspects, of life in Gaza are a direct result of what Hamas did on Saturday. I feel very sorry for the few innocent people that live there, but from what I’ve seen most of the people living in Gaza approve of what Hamas does, based upon all the times over many years that I have seen them demonstrating their absolute glee at the murder of innocent Jews in Israel. They are reaping what they have sown, and I am honestly not going to shed a single tear for them.
Their “elite squad” was decked out in Brand new US LBE and the A-4s didnt look they had been dropped too many times.
Those paragliding elite troopers, I really cant get over. One guard tower with a M-240 could have covered all that. And it would have been Fun!
A few CIWSs along the border would have been even better.
The UN just figured out what a hellhole Gaza is after all these years of breeding terrorists building bombs rockets and killing Jews.
