A 5-year-old deadly car crash is getting renewed attention because the driver is now the wife of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, both of whom are facing federal charges alleging they took bribes.
The crash happened in December of 2018, before they were married.
Nadine Menendez was driving her Mercedes-Benz in Bogota, New Jersey, when she struck and killed a pedestrian. Police dash cam video shows her interaction with officers after the crash.
"If we can clear you from any wrongdoing, I want to get you home and comfortable and not here anymore, you know what I'm saying," a Bogota police officer says to Menendez in the dash cam video.
The crash killed 49-year-old Richard Koop, who was simply walking across the street towards his front door after taking an Uber home from a local bar.
Surveillance video shows the moment Menendez's vehicle hit Koop. Menendez denied any wrongdoing.
"I didn't do anything wrong. He jumped on my windshield," Menendez said in the dash cam video.
When police arrived, she claimed she was innocent, but said "no" when police asked if they could examine her phone, which officers often do to see if a driver was texting at the time of an accident.

"The same surveillance video that shows Menendez' car hitting Koop, shows her then sitting in the car for several minutes, never looking to see if the man she hit was ok. He died at the scene."
> Wonder why the demo-scum want him out now? <
It makes for a nice distraction from Hunter Biden’s problems.
And when Hunter gets a slap in the wrist, Democrats can say, “We try to apply justice as evenly we can. Just look what we did to Sen. Menendez.”
Precisely.
Wasn’t there another Senator whose wife met an untimely death in a car accident?
The poor girl, thankfully crooked Mendendez got her a new Mercedes Benz for free to sooth her pain.
These two should be in jail, this country is a sewer.
Must be nice to be a Party member.
Bogota, New Joysey? Really?
Yeah, she committed suicide when she found her husband was cheating on her and the guy she drove in front of was blamed for drunk driving.
Hmmm...would the wife of a Republican senator have been treated the same way? < /mad hilarity >
Menendez is guilty of not sharing his bribes with party officials to spread around. He is greedy.
Biden "fixer": "Sorry, Bob. You and Nadine are going to have to take one for the team. We'll provide the best defense lawyers and maybe even arrange some...uh...financial benefits to a few jurors, but we need the public's eyes off the President and his son."
Menendez: "What if I don't like that scenario? I know where a lot of the bodies are buried, if you know what I mean."
Biden "fixer": "Well Bob, that would complicate matters. Can I ask...when's the last time you updated your life insurance policy?"
That phrase from a New Jersey cop has particular meaning, if you know what I’m saying.
Unfortunately, she was unable to save the two boys from being molested in the shower by The Big Guy.
In the indictment, it reads: "On or about September 6, 2019, Menendez met with Official-2 at Menendez's Senate office in Newark, New Jersey in an attempt, through advice and pressure, to cause Official-2 to favorably resolve the investigation."
An unidentified person is heard on the dash cam video asking one of the officers if they're going to give the case to the Prosecutor's office.
The person at the scene sounds like he or she is a connected handler of some kind, and I do wonder who Official-2 is.
According to the NYT, the man at the scene said he was a retired Hackensack police officer, and it took Nadine Menendez, as she is now, a little over 4 minutes to call 911.

Level five - some day I'm gonna marry that girl.
Yup. Saw the clip.
pronouced Buh Go uh
She kills someone and doesn’t even get her wrist slapped... what a surprise that she was connected to a dmeocrt at the time of the killing.... Just kidding - of course nothing happened to her. We don’t have a justice system in our hellhole police state.
