Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has called on his fellow Republicans in the House of Representatives to abolish the rule that allows a single member to file a “motion to vacate the chair,” claiming that it makes the Speaker’s job “near impossible.”

“I’d like to start by thanking Speaker McCarthy for his service. We had a great personal relationship trying to lead two very different parts of the American government. I think he has much to be proud of. We avoided a government shutdown. We did the inevitable with regard to the debt ceiling,” said McConnell.

Going back is having the Elected members of the only House we won being totally ignored and impotent.
The Huge Omnibus is shoved through and the Debt is going to ruin the future of the Country. Let’s fight now
“We did the inevitable....”
That sums it up. These leaders all all just a con job.

It’s always about doing Joe’s bidding with McConnell and Lindsey…
One can see why they would be unhappy. Backroom deals are easy, votes needing over 200 are hard. They want the backroom secret deals.
Time to apply the rule to vacate to old Prune Face. Maybe he would take McDaniel with him.

I don’t want to know more.

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Given that one of the main powers that the states have given to the peacetime feds to dictate domestic policy is to deliver the mail, most federal domestic policy now based on state powers that the corrupt feds have stolen from the states, contrary to what McConnel wants everybody to think concerning "difficulty" of Speaker's duties, members of the House could arguably take turns being Speaker on a daily basis without major problems imo.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Consider if this were a better world, then it would be the norm for citizens to lightheartedly question if the federal government has shut down if they receive their mail a few days late.
McCarthy is gone. It's now up to us Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to likewise kick ALL incumbent federal lawmakers up for reelection out of office, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company, (others?), by primarying them in 2024, then replace them with Trump supporting patriot lawmakers.
After all, lawmakers and executives continue to show that they do not have the patriotism and leadership skills necessary to find legislative support for effective remedies for unconstitutional government policies.
Constitution-savvy patriots can provide lists of patriots for Trump to choose from to endorse for 2024.
The only reason it makes it impossible is because the Speaker might get held accountable by the voters for ignoring the will of the people.
Ain’t that right Mitch?
Definitely some sort of same-sex relationship going on between McCarthy and McConnell ...
Nope, it must stand!
Used three times, successful once, and now its a problem because the sword of Damocles is hanging over the SOTH head all the time. Who can function under those conditions? Other than over 200 years of speakers frolicking Laughable!
This is one of the most serious, divisive moves by a handful of Republicans. They made a mess...hope their happy. And when we get down the road and we’re still doling out bucks, it just might dawn on the Repubs...that the Dems have the better hand.
Re: 19 - stop being a pig.
Re: 32 - Gaetz is a big spender. He can’t hide from his 2018 votes on spending.
I’m interested in how FReepers who bashed McCarthy for “working with democrats” square the fact that the prissy little b-tch Gaetz voted with every single democrat in yesterday’s vote. So it’s only good to side with democrats when it serves Matt Gaetz? Do I have that correct?
LOL the turtle head is afraid that his ass would be next if we could get rid of these swamp creatures that easily..Im surprised that McConnell was able to make a complete sentence honestly
Get stuffed, troll.
Amen.
There absolutely has to be a motion to vacate rule, but it should probably have a higher threshold than one member.
Ah, so you have no answer for my question. Thanks!
