HANNITY: “Sources telling me… that some House Republicans have been in contact with and have started an effort to draft former President Donald Trump to be the next Speaker and I have been told that President Trump might be open to helping the Republican Party.. if needed”

Would be fun to see, just to watch heads explode.
Trump cannot do this now even if he wanted to.
I like the out of the box thinking.
Keep him out of the Presidency if he falls for it.
It’s fun to imagine what would happen, but I don’t think he realistically has the votes with the slim majority vs # of RINOs.
He should either run for Speaker or president. If he takes the speaker job, it will hurt his presidential chances, plus a lot of voters will not vote for him, if he has the other position.
Hannity is SUCH A DUMB ASS!
Why the hell would Donald Trump degrade himself by taking a position where he answers to 400+ duplicitous A-holes who could fire him on a moment’s notice?
Trump, the consensus builder…
Maybe, but he knows Karate. Tick tock…
You talk about heads exploding nationwide, I want to see it.
YES, then he can sign subpoena and Arrest and Detainment Warrants for ALL OF THEM and JAIL them himself.
Comey

The Capitol JAIL should hold them easily until the New Speaker signs an order transferring them all to Club Gitmo.
“U.S. CODE
TITLE 2—THE CONGRESS
CHAPTER 6—CONGRESSIONAL AND COMMITTEE PROCEDURE; INVESTIGATIONS
Sec. 193. Privilege of witnesses
No witness is privileged to refuse to testify to any fact, or to produce any paper, respecting which he shall be examined by either House of Congress, or by any joint committee established by a joint or concurrent resolution of the two Houses of Congress, or by any committee of either House, upon the ground that his testimony to such fact or his production of such paper may tend to disgrace him or otherwise render him infamous.”
Simply look up Hinds Precedents, especially chapters 53 and 51, and Cannon’s Precedents, especially chapters 184-185. You’ll find numerous detailed cases of Congress asserting its power, arresting people, holding them until they agreed to answer questions, and then releasing them. Some of these people did not refuse to appear, but simply failed to satisfactorily answer questions.
Congress has the authority to arrest and imprison those found in Contempt. The power extends throughout the United States and is an inherent power (does not depend upon legislated act)
If found in Contempt the person can be arrested under a warrant of the Speaker of the House of Representatives or President of the Senate, by the respective Sergeant at Arms.
Statutory criminal contempt is an alternative to inherent contempt.
Under the inherent contempt power Congress may imprison a person for a specific period of time or an indefinite period of time, except a person imprisoned by the House of Representatives may not be imprisoned beyond adjournment of a session of Congress.
Imprisonment may be coercive or punitive.

In 1857, a New York Times reporter refused to say which members of Congress had asked him to get them bribes (protecting his “sources” just as various Judith Millers today protect the people who feed them proven lies that costs thousands of lives), so Congress locked him up until he answered and then banned him from Congress.
In 1924 an oil executive appeared but refused to answer certain questions, so the Senate held — literally held — him in contempt. Senator Thomas Walsh of Montana argued that this question of contempt was of the gravest importance, and that it involved “the very life of the effective existence of the House of Representatives of the United States and of the Senate of the United States.” The matter was taken to court, and the witness fined and imprisoned.
The Demoncrat Party would melt down in 3-2-1..
Yes.
In another thread I explained why he wouldn’t want to do it though. Essentially the dems, rinos, admin and press will spend 13 months on the air saying everything during this time is all his fault. And too many will believe it.
Better not to do it for him, I think. It robs them of 13 months of portrating him constantly as the reason why everything is wrong in the usa.
Someone put a suicide watch on Rob Reiner! 😜
Sean “Oz Can’t Lose” Hannity. DUMBASSERY! A font of bad, incredibly STUPID IDEAS.
He’d never get enough votes.
Contact your Congress critters!
Mister Trump would need at least 218 votes to secure SOTH.
That is beyond unlikely.
The Dems would be zero, and the GOPers got a whopping 8 votes to unseat McCarthy.
Beyond unlikely, beyond sane consideration.
That’s what he should actually do here. He can use this moment to find some unity within the party and then run on some core ideas in 2024. Play as a team...maybe? Speaker needs to be hard-core though. Someone who doesn’t mind shutting down the government, taking thr arrows and telling the RatPukes and the Repukes to pound sand. Truthfully, if it won’t help him become President he may want to stay clear of these fools.
Yea, bring in a bomb thrower with no political aspirations. Steve Bannon Type
