The Motion to Vacate was an agreement McCarthy made to finally get Republicans to agree to vote him in as Speaker.
I was astonished to hear him at this press conference saying that Pelosi told him to let them have it because she’d back him up.
In other words he never entered that agreement honestly, thinking Pelosi’s promise allowed him not to be concerned with it.
How dishonest and disingenuous. He makes an agreement with his own party thinking the agreement means nothing anyhow based on a private conversation with Pelosi.

I think this explains why McCarthy's pal is evicting Pelosi from her Speaker's office. Pelosi did not back him up, so she does not get to keep her old office.
Interestingly, I did not see any news articles earlier that Pelosi was keeping her Speaker's office until now.
