Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. warned on Thursday that the “next step of Ukraine War escalation” is stationing United States military advisers on the ground.
He flagged a recent article by Foreign Affairs titled “Why America Should Send Military Advisers to Ukraine: On-the-Ground Help Will Bolster Kyiv Without Risking Escalation.”
He posted on X: “Establishment journal Foreign Affairs signals the next step of Ukraine War escalation: stationing U.S. military advisors on the ground. Have they forgotten how we got embroiled in Vietnam?”
The article, written by Alexandra Chinchilla, an assistant professor at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, and Sam Rosenberg, a Ph.D. candidate at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, argued that Western training for Ukraine troops could reach more troops if it took place within the country.
They wrote:
Although Western instruction has reached many Ukrainian soldiers, it has missed the overwhelming majority. That is because Western training has been administered outside Ukraine, from locations across Europe. This distance has limited how many Ukrainians can access instruction and how customized the training can be to the terrain of Ukraine and the specialized tactics needed there. It also limits the extent to which the United States can catalyze enduring transformations in Ukraine’s defense establishment.
Washington should therefore lift the strict restrictions on the number of U.S. government personnel allowed in Ukraine and begin stationing military advisers within the country and across its defense apparatus. Sending advisers would increase the number of Ukrainian soldiers who receive top-of-the-line training.

Pretty sure they’re already there. Same as the ‘50s in VN, when there were plenty of advisors running around.
DemocRATS have started every war in the last 200 years.
Why would you think they would not get this one going?
No money for yukraine, not another dime!
Same BS that China and Russia did in Korea and Vietnam.
As I understand it, they have been there the entire time.
They always believe their war will be different.
Ukrainians say that NATO instructions has been worse than useless, actually degrading.
So the purpose of this is to get American boys & girls to die so we can escalate to nuclear war. It’s what the NeoCons want and this run this nation. Resistance is futile.
‘Unofficially’, yes................
There’s nothing wrong with sending a few American advisers to Ukraine. Of course these advisers would need a secure base of operations. So force protection people would also need to be sent in. Perimeter defense units, anti-aircraft units, a combat air patrol, etc.
Would all this greatly increase the chances of accidentally getting into a hot war with Russia? Yes. No doubt about that.
Oh, wait. I guess there’s a lot wrong with sending in a few advisers.
The Vietnam hippies who protested the Vietnam War and burned their draft cards are now in power wanting the USA to get involved directly in the Ukraine war so they can profit off the destruction.
Yep...already there....at least virtually. I suspect we will are also will supply them drone pilots remotely....in additional to all the satellite’s we have likely positioned over the country to supply them with real-time surveillance data. The real enemy is China....but our politicians and business leaders are all in the pockets of China.
Next step? They engineered and oversaw the 2014 regime change. It’s what they do.
Not really.
They would just tell their base that RFK was a nutjob and he and Trump are colluding to destroy ‘their democracy’................
President Eisenhower warned us of the “Military Industrial Complex” which makes much money by war. They are still in power.
US is not gonna let the Uke’s play with multi-million $ toys without a few advisors.
And his Soviet counterpart, Nikita Khrushchev said the American economy would not work without a war going on...................
Yeah. How funny he missed that.
Been there for nearly a decade.
Since July, Vanderberg has been responsible for planning, coordinating and training Ukrainian Soldiers on the mortar system. She is currently on her second rotation training Soldiers and said she is impressed with the knowledge of the current unit.
A couple of weeks ago, one heard an anecdote about a lady who was happy that her son just got back from Ukraine-OOPS-Poland.
Advisors and troops have long been on the ground.
