Russian State TV Threatens Cluster Munitions Attack on NATO Member

Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov suggested Moscow could attack the Netherlands, a member of the NATO military alliance, with dual-purpose improved conventional munitions (DPICM), or cluster bombs.

Solovyov, one of the most well-known figures in Kremlin-backed media and an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, issued the warning alongside Andrey Gurulyov, a Russian parliament (State Duma) member and former military commander, during a segment on state television channel Russia-1.

Cluster bombs open in the air and release many smaller bomblets, or submunitions, over a wide area. The U.S. agreed to supply Ukraine with the weapons in July after months of debate. Kyiv had repeatedly requested DPICMs—banned in more than 120 countries, but not in the U.S., Russia or Ukraine—be sent for use by its forces in the war.

On Wednesday, Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine's minister of internal affairs, shared a 44-second segment of the state TV broadcast on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: "Attention, Netherlands! Russian propagandists threaten to attack Dutch oil refineries with cluster munitions."

Take your American cluster bombs to the corner of the nearest room, sit on them, and wait for further instructions.

Not a good idea. At this point, were it to come to conventional warfare, NATO has 3.4 million troops. Russia is down to about 1 million. Sure, we’re expending hardware, largely because Ukrainians don’t know how to use it, but Russia has been expending hardware at a much higher rate. They realistically don’t have many tanks left, as demonstrated to their shift to troops. (We never had many at all, but we’ve built our army presuming we won’t use them.)

Someone early this morning NAILED it when he stated that the Neocons figured they could now make their move on Russia as the US Cities are no longer worth protecting, whereas Russian cities are still worth protecting. Kind of put an and to value of MAD.

NATO has 3.4 million troops

Have you bothered to look at the difference between Russian troops and these NATO "woke" troops. NATO could have 10 million troops, but most will run away at the sound of the first shot.

Yup. Russia is really losing. No need for more US dollars for that country with endless victories

That’s a really good point. If the $$ men moved Wall Street out of NYC, and they could fairly easily given the technological age we live in, most of the city would be expendable.

Isabel van Brugen is a Brit, and a 2017 college girl. SO basically her news report is that a Russian TV news guy brought up the Nordstream bombing (that “it’s still unclear who did it”) and the TV news guy said maybe Russia coul bomb Dutch refineries.

That’s what passes for news these days. A reporterette, reporting on the speculation by another reporter.

The Russians’ point was clear: Don’t give ATACMS cluster munition rockets to Ukraine, which they threaten to use against Moscow, without expecting the same in return. This Ukraine idiocy is getting completely out of control, which is the globalists’ intent. They want to drain the U.S. of the capability to militarily defend its own interests while at the same time dragging it into an incredibly dangerous war with Russia. They have always wanted the U.S. to be knocked down to the status of just another run of the mill country, to make it easier to integrate into a world government, and if all of their other efforts to do so don’t quite get us there, then I believe they’re fully willing to instigate a nuclear war to accomplish it.

Meanwhile, some conservatives egg this plot on because they saw The Hunt for Red October once and still believe we’re living in the 1980s Cold War era. “Git those Russkis” doesn’t have much more thought behind it than the Left’s constant refrains of “Get Trump.” And just to be clear, I love The Hunt for Red October and was an adamant anti-Soviet conservative, but this is a different era and while today’s Russia is not our friend it is far from our worst enemy, and they are not wrong about some of their justifications for opposing integration of Ukraine into NATO. They are particularly justified in their fear of the creeping corrosive effects of western “woke” culture and the primarily European push for global government. The globalists are by far our worst enemy, and we should at least be realistic about that, including being clear about how utterly corrupt Ukraine is and how they are flat out taking advantage of the U.S. while supporting the globalist agenda.

Well we have set a precedent. US cluster bombs are killing Russian soldiers right now.

The Moscow upper class funded by oil and gas says a lot of things when the rent for war is the life of “some drunk criminal from the countryside.”

The moscow dwellers are getting off on the rubes on both sides being turned into biowaste. Sound war on terror familiar.

Kinda. But do you really think Dutch and Belgian soldiers, Germans, Norwegians and other are up for trench warfare on the eastern front? And then there is our own army that gives new meaning to the word “Doughboys” (and girls)

You delusional if you think NATO is ready for a conventional war with the exception of a few small US elements.

Russia can’t hold on to the occupied Ukraine.

Russia can’t project anywhere.

Russia can’t attack NATO. Because........ Russia can’t
