Liberal California has a state flag tied to the Confederacy. How can that be?
San Luis Obispo Tribune ^ | SEPTEMBER 21, 2023 | THE TRIBUNE EDITORIAL BOARD

Here’s a history lesson you’re unlikely to find in textbooks: California’s bear flag has links to white supremacy and pro-slavery. Here’s another: California entered the union as a “free” state, yet enslavement was widely condoned. As many as 1,500 enslaved African Americans lived in California in 1852. That completely contradicts what most of us learned in school.

Considering they were drunk and racist, that’s as close to a bear it would get.
If drawn by later Democrats, it’d look more like a “manbearpig”

Thank you for posting Regulator.

"There was nothing native about the Spanish."

The Spanish had made slaves out of the California natives in the later 1700s.

Ha.

“and are a protected species.”

Unlike the hapless normal human citizens who are targets of carjackings, muggings and home invasions.

How dare you deny the existence of precognition an time travel.
Admit it, you knew I was going to say that.
We know the time machine was invented in California in the late 1800's

The Brit's try to claim it was London, But the original machine was discovered in 1960 at Culver City, California.

Close to 75% of the free, white Kings County families enslaved people within their home.

Just one county in New York.

There are probably more people than that living in slavery in California right now, thanks to Biden's open border policies.

Just guessing, but wouldn’t it be accurate to say ‘liberal California’ has more actual slaves today than ever?

This sounds to me like someone just wants to attack everything American. They don’t care one bit if there is any truth to it at all. They just want to keep the country on the defensive in public.

“The Spanish had made slaves out of the California natives in the later 1700s.”

Don’t count. I think the accepted Twenty First Century American thinking is something like this:
Only white people were be slave holders. Only blacks were be slaves.
Besides all native Spanish speakers in the the US are opressed.
Cailfornia natives were injuns to be put on reservations. But now that they have casinos, they are amongst the oppressors.

Oh, for Horrors!
the SLOTT newspaper has found something new to carp about

and don’t let this pass as an insignificant little country hicktown paper

first, SLO is a nice little town. but more importantly here,
the paper is owned by a multi-billion dinero leftwing corporation whose other holdings include the Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Orlando Sentinel, New York Daily News, and many more.

I sure saw those “greaser reparations” coming. The minorities know they can make the Gringos sh*t their pants with one wave of their “race card.”

LOL um no

There is nothing “liberal” about that state. That’s like reverse gaslighting or something. Tyrannical, NOT liberal, but that’s the same for most “liberal” things..it’s a lie. Liberal implies openness to all, but the left is actually less accepting of anything that doesn’t fit their own opinion. And their hatred makes them desire to crush what they don’t like. Not very “open”, or “liberal”. Tyrannical.

Later that fall, Sen. George Murphy (R-Calif.), who was running for re-election, put out a bumper sticker featuring the Bear Flag. I thought of sticking one of them on the door of the professor's office as a prank, but was unable to approach the door without being seen. Had I succeeded, he would have flipped his lid.

I think it is our civic duty to make liberal professor's flip their lid. :)
