All that was from a different time when congress actually asked questions with the intent to find out the truth and facts of a matter. Now they ask questions to make a point and the response of the person being asked is almost irrelevant, which is why when the answer is shocking the questioner just moves on to the next question as if they hadn’t heard ... because they don’t care about answers, they care about making their point with a fake question.
Trump wants to be the 2024 nominee and believes that he is entitled to the nomination. If he came to one of the debates that would imply that other candidates have a right to try to get the nomination.

2. Smith can be referred for prosecution out of the House Judiciary, for example, or even indicted by a county prosecutor in say, Florida, if we buy the Willis theory of anyone with a compliant Grand Jury can indict federal officers.

If this case actually goes to trial, and there are non-citizens on the jury. They have not selected a jury yet.
As hard as this is to believe, the house can do exactly that.

This guy should have been disbarred after he lied to courts in the Enron, that VA Gov and that My Little Pony Dem prez candidate cases.
The problem is, it may be difficult to guarantee that a DC court will select an "impartial jury." Roger Stone's jury forema'am posted anti-Trump statements on social media. But they must be "from the state and district in which the crime was alleged to have been committed." Does the 6th Amendment have criteria that contradict each other?
