Jeb Bush wasted no time expressing his gratitude to Bermuda and its reinsurance market during the 62nd General Assembly & Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

The remarks were made during a wideranging and freewheeling “fireside chat” with the former governor, his son George P. Bush and Thomas Gallagher, chairman and CEO of Miami International Holdings, which owns the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

“I am worried about his [President Biden] age. We have a problem in our country. We have a lot of people who are past their prime who cling to power. There are people in both parties that fit that criteria,” Mr Bush said.
“First and foremost, I would say, it’s time for the baby boomers to get off the stage and let in a new generation of leaders that are more similar in age to my son and your Premier.
“It is a tough job that requires a tremendous amount of energy.”
Mr Bush said it is an extremely unusual situation in the US now, as one candidate for president has “lost some of his faculties” and the other has been indicted multiple times.
“I would like to see a guy like [California Democratic governor] Gavin Newsom run against a guy like [Florida Republican governor] Ron DeSantis. They have totally different visions of what the world should look like, one is a progressive, one is a conservative. Let them have it out,’ he said.

Thank you. And his brother, the POTUS at the time was too weak to stand up and do the right thing. The Bush boys will have to answer to God for that one. Terri was fully alive.

My recollection ,is that both President Bush and Governor Bush both worked through the courts ,the state courts in Florida and federal courts , to save Terri schiavo’s life.
As I recall the federal Congress passed a particular Bill and George Bush signed it allowing the federal courts to get involved in the case.
Please elaborate if you like what more you expected of both Governor Bush and President Bush to have done in the Terry Schaivo case.

This is too funny. A guy who never actually comments on the subject matter of a thread but instead uses virtually every one of his posts to “analyze” and critique the responses and scold posters because they actually have an opinion - yes that guy has the balls to complain that people aren’t responding to the subject matter of the article, all while not making a single comment, himself, about the article in question.
We’re talking about irony of epic proportions here, and you’re completely oblivious to it. Now THAT’s funny - in an annoying sort of way.

That’s all you do. You never comment on the subject matter of an article. And yet that’s precisely what you were lecturing about in your post. You add nothing to the conversatioin.

I was chastised earlier, that I should not comment on what others say, but rather should make declarative statements.
I have not kept an exact count by any means, but there are plenty of people on Free Republic who comment on what others say, and disagree with what others say. And there are quite a few who agree and comment that they agree with what others say.
I think all of us including me, should be able to explain and defend their opinions if others on this site comment on what they have said. I think that’s just part of ongoing discussions that people have.
