Elections are the answer to Trumpism, which aims to undermine the Constitution that protects our freedoms.
Yesterday, we saw the antidote at work once again, and in battleground states, in special elections for state House seats in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Both victories were consistent with a 2023 national trend, with abortion-rights Democrats overperforming in the wake of the 2022 Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationally.

Republicans need to relearn how to win the little elections before they can start winning the big ones again.. Like school board, Sheriff, County Commissioner, Auditor, those sort of post that oversee and protect the voting booth..
Some of the problems may be that those decent folks we need to run for local offices are workers, who have family’s to care for, and probably find the democrats they will need to deal with, far too repugnant to associate with..
When you have a state party that doesn’t want MAGA to win, and Trump is not on the ballot in a national election, it’s not going to be surprising that the candidates lose
That's a huge part of the problem.
I just heard on the radio that the biden admin will be giving illegals photo ID’s now. Guess who will be voting early and often next year.
May be republicans are busy working to make a living, and have a family with children more than democrats. Those folks have no time to run for office.
You have a good point there.
Voters see border crisis, debt, crime, inflation, poor education and every time they listen to the Republicans, all they hear is “Hunter Biden”.
Democrats will control all 3 branches after 2024 election.
That is true. Also, every once powerful kingdom began to deteriorate over time for various reasons and eventually met their demise. Similar example is children of a successful person more often than not do not repeat the success of their parent. I think complacency is a natural by-product of success.
The Republicans will lose 5-8 seats in the New York races alone due to gerrymandering.

I am convinced you are wrong. Excellent example is to observe what happened in Kansas last year. Every republican won election, but the proposition to restrict abortions went down to defeat hugely. Old men just have to grapple with the fact that young generation does not want abortions restricted. The sexual revolution is the cause. Sex is no longer only for the married.
And even a lot of Republican-voting Conservatives don’t want to pay for welfare babies.
Almost all of the world’s democracies require voter ID. Even the largest democracy in the world, India has printed voter photo ID for more than 800 million people, last time I checked. Also, as a naturalized citizen myself, I have voted in every presidential election since 1972. Guess what? I was never asked to prove citizenship to register to vote in any of the states I have resided.
The states where these Dem victories occurred all have lax election integrity laws. Surprise, surprise.
You have to deal with the situation as it is, not the one you wish for. Almost no major country in the world restricts abortions completely.
Losing elections due to abortion issue, WILL NOT REDUCE ABORTIONS. Those who lose elections, lose power to further any agenda. Name me one senator or governor who lost election and still was able to change laws about abortions.
The assumption that young generations overwhelmingly want no restrictions on abortion is not accurate. I’m 52 - my generation never considered sex as only for the married, the world we grew up in already rejected that and a younger me didn’t oppose abortion.
I’ve also argued here on FR that we shouldn’t make the abortion topic a legal vs. illegal narrative. I do agree the left wins when we sit in their box. The argument of the left is that it is ‘just a clump of cells’ and is only about the ‘body of the mother’. This is such an easy argument to destroy using reality. Fine, show me pictures of this ‘clump of cells’. If that is all it is then it shouldn’t be something to shy away from.
We should have required (high school) education on exactly what happens during an abortion. Exactly what a fetus looks like at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 10 weeks, 20 weeks, along with FACTS around the abortion procedure and that pain and *struggle* is endured. That the skull must be crushed to suck out the fetus’ brain. Make it very real what you’re doing....to a unique human with unique DNA that is not just the mothers only. So no, it’s *not* the mothers body only in question.
Too many just don’t want to hear it and maintain that it is ‘just a clump of cells’. This allows for a callous dismissal of the entire topic.
It doesn’t have to be illegal for it to be rare. It’s more of a symptom of a sick society but we allow the left to dominate education and the narrative.
Check voting by age. More young people showed up in 2022 mid terms. Why do you think that was? If you recall Senator Graham had proposed a bill to restrict all abortions after 15 weeks. Democrats exploited that successfully in 2022.
Any other reason you know why red wave fizzled in 2022?
Equally sad is losing elections by pushing abortion restrictions by politicians such as senator Graham did just a few months before 2022 midterms.
