The assumption that young generations overwhelmingly want no restrictions on abortion is not accurate. I’m 52 - my generation never considered sex as only for the married, the world we grew up in already rejected that and a younger me didn’t oppose abortion.
I’ve also argued here on FR that we shouldn’t make the abortion topic a legal vs. illegal narrative. I do agree the left wins when we sit in their box. The argument of the left is that it is ‘just a clump of cells’ and is only about the ‘body of the mother’. This is such an easy argument to destroy using reality. Fine, show me pictures of this ‘clump of cells’. If that is all it is then it shouldn’t be something to shy away from.
We should have required (high school) education on exactly what happens during an abortion. Exactly what a fetus looks like at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 10 weeks, 20 weeks, along with FACTS around the abortion procedure and that pain and *struggle* is endured. That the skull must be crushed to suck out the fetus’ brain. Make it very real what you’re doing....to a unique human with unique DNA that is not just the mothers only. So no, it’s *not* the mothers body only in question.
Too many just don’t want to hear it and maintain that it is ‘just a clump of cells’. This allows for a callous dismissal of the entire topic.
It doesn’t have to be illegal for it to be rare. It’s more of a symptom of a sick society but we allow the left to dominate education and the narrative.
Half of Americans are women, and a Women’s Choice is on the ballot. Could you imagine if states demanded men get vasectomies?
