The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it will make $4.6 billion available to help states, localities and tribes implement their climate plans.
The funds represent the bulk of a $5 billion effort under the Inflation Reduction Act to help local and state governments cut their greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
The administration has already put an additional $250 million to help them develop the plans.
Biden administration officials told reporters that four states — Florida, Iowa, Kentucky and South Dakota — declined to participate; major metropolitan areas in those states did receive planning grants.

Has Presiden5 Sniffer and his ‘scientists’ calculated how much energy an additional 40 million illegals costs our part of ‘Motha Earf’?
What a colossal waste of money.
approved by Congress. thanks Joe Manchin.
The so called Inflation Reduction Act.
Because that will really help with inflation.
Don’t forget that these criminals told us we couldn’t afford $5 billion for a decent wall on the southern border.
LOL - “payments to state and local” means in ALL cases, simply, payments to leftist cities and states to support their bloated bureaucracies and leftist political machinery.
“They are smarter than us, because they have figured out how to get lots of free money from us”.
While they destroy our freedom, security and prosperity.
Has this clown figured out a way to control volcanoes and prevent all the vapor and ash being pumped into the atmosphere?
Lol there goes Gov. Brassiere's job-hunting prospects in The White Hospice after getting curb-stomped by Secretary of State Cameron in November.
Exactly. More Solyndras. More political payoffs. Lower living standards for everyone.
My GOD! Almost FIVE BILLION to write some PLANS!!!???
Our little San Fran Peninsula town just got it’s “Housing Element” plan approved by then state. It runs on hundreds of pages with every detail about demographics imaginable. It’s conclusions were 1) houses are expensive, 2) we need lots more cheap houses, 3) it’s unfair all you white people get to enjoy your nice town, and (4) all you people who worked hard and sacrificed to live in this nice town have to give up what you’ve got for non-white people.
These “climate plans” will all reach the very same conclusions except they will add (5) tax the hell out of everybody, especially white people who have all the privilege. It is all so predictable.
All of the money will get recycled to Dem politicians and NGOs, of course.
Five billion down the drain. Our nation is so screwed.
“They are smarter than us, because they have figured out how to get lots of free money from us.”
Isn’t that the truth? Meanwhile, the Repubs make feeble, pretend efforts to rein in this out-of-control government that never amount to anything.
We just passed $33 TRILLION debt for the first time. This ridiculous “planning” effort takes us 1/20 of the way to $34 trillion debt.
I’m working and seeing some of this nonsense from the inside.
There is $400 billion to 1 trillion that will be spent on this
Look up “justice 40”.
They want a bunch of the money to go to “minorities”.
They want us to push Solar home systems onto low income people.
They want people making $1,500/month yo install a $20,000 solar system .
Madness.
Some don’t even know the 30% tax credit don’t go to these low income people.
It’s a tax credit, do no tax due means no tax credit !
They actually thought a check would be written to these people.
Madness…
This is how the federal government took control of every city, every county in the USA. First COVID money and now CLIMATE money. Goodbye America.
“Inflation Reduction Act”
More federal abuse of the language.
This is going to disappear into the back pockets of a lot of consultants and contractors. The graft will be impressive. Expect it to go into a lot of startups connected to some pols. Startups that fail after the administrators have skimmed the company into oblivion.
Unfortunately, all this greenie weenie crap was included in the so-called Inflation Reduction Act passed by Congress.
Four trillion dollars!
Trying to make Greenland, Greenland again...?
