Disney insisted it's not selling ABC "at this time" last week amid ongoing speculation, but the company admitted it's open to "a variety of strategic options" for the network and a sale could have major ramifications for ABC News.
Disney's statement followed Bloomberg report from Thursday that found the media giant "held exploratory talks" with TV station operator Nexstar Media about possibly selling off ABC. Media mogul and standup comic Byron Allen also made a massive offer bid to buy ABC, Allen Media Group confirmed to FOX News Digital.
Once news of a potential sale began to make headlines, ABC News staffers quickly expressed concern to liberal media allies. CNN’s media newsletter on Thursday was labeled, "Anxiety at ABC," and quoted staffers who said, "Everyone is freaking the f—k out" and "it’s all anyone at work is talking about."

Elon Musk, please pick up on the courtesy white phone!..............
Freaking out about losing their good paying jobs? Freaking out about not having a platform to spew liberalism? What is the real cause of their anxiety?
It will just be the same garbage, different day.
The welfare and comfort of the ABC News Division is always at the forefront of my awareness.
All these talking heads should be replaced by AI.
No humans are needed to repeat Deep State propaganda.
Second, a comedian should buy ABC, because they are a joke.
AI would rebel at the thought....................
The three networks will be gone within twenty years!
Pretty funny! A whole industry built on a fantasy, is now up in arms, with everybody worried about a job that does not exist in every of the other 49 ‘main streets’ across the country.
Oh noooes, I will be crying a river for their misfortune...
Then I will have to watch nothing, as is currently the situation with network television, heck I’d have to find a television, nah.
LOL!
Someone with strong ties to BigPharma will likely be the successful bidder.
Now tell me if that doesn’t make sense. And if not, why not?
ABC has it coming. Why would anyone hire David Muir who constantly looks like he is passing a kidney stone?
Over-the-air media is already dead.
The internet, streaming, podcasts, social-media have killed it. its ONLY value is that Fed.gov still views it as a useful propaganda outlet.
Its like GM trying to sell their horse-buggy manufacturing division.
They all have them, NBC has dour sour Margaret Brennan, never cracked a smile in her life, except when interviewing Democrats.
Could whoopi and Joy Behar and the gang be out of a job?
First I thought they were selling Disney , LOL but if anyone bought Disney they would have to Fire 99% of the employees ,LOL
That was my first thought, also. He's done a good job of turning X (Twitter) back to a more free marketplace of ideas. I wonder what he could to with a legacy news organization.
Unless he structured the deal right, Congress could object about a monopoly or maybe not. X is a social media platform and ABC is supposedly a free over air news/entertainment company. But then, I may not know what I'm talking about. I would just like to see Musk taking control of a broadcasted biased news organization.
