Ukraine reported on Monday its troops had recaptured more territory on the eastern front and advanced in the south in its military counteroffensive against Russian forces.
Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said Kyiv's forces had retaken two square km (0.77 square mile) of land in the past week around the shattered eastern city of Bakhmut, which was captured by Russian troops in May after months of fighting.
Ukraine reported on Monday its troops had recaptured more territory on the eastern front and advanced in the south in its military counteroffensive against Russian forces.
Overall, Ukraine regained more than 260 square km (100 square miles) in the south during the counteroffensive, she said.
During its three-month-old counteroffensive, Ukraine has reported slow, steady progress against entrenched Russian positions, retaking a string of villages and advancing on the flanks of Bakhmut, but taking no major settlements.

The fact that Ukraine is on the offensive is in itself amazing. Russia with the #2 military in the world is now on the defensive in Ukraine after 1 year, 6 months, 3 weeks and 5 days against a country with no navy and really no air-force.

They had a video on the other day. Very pro-Urk BBC type documentary about how Ukr takes care of their wounded. They talked to a combat soldier resting Between ops and asked him how long he has been fighting. Want to guess how many years with non-stop fighting except for RR etc. he has experienced?

So I’m saying there was a conflict already and this nearly full out war is a progression of it.
