(The law) is impacting their ability to just go about their day like they used For many in Florida’s vast immigrant community, daily life in recent months has become one governed entirely by fear.
Some try to drive as little as possible and make fewer trips to the supermarket. Others no longer take their children to the park and worry about allowing them to attend school. Others still are hiding out — avoiding travel to other states, not getting regular medical check-ups, or closing their businesses and leaving town. And many are just on high alert — all because of a new immigration law Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed in May.
One of the strictest in the nation, the law criminalized transporting immigrants lacking permanent legal status into the state, invalidated any U.S. government identification they might have and blocked local governments from providing them with ID cards. Florida hospitals that receive Medicaid are now mandated to ask patients about immigration status and businesses employing 25 or more people must verify their workers’ legal status.
Other aspects of the law go into effect next year.

Are they talking about people in our country illegally?
They should be afraid to get caught, shouldn’t they?
What strange times these are!
Cry me a river.
Maybe they should go elsewhere. Like where they came from. The U.S. government doesn't fund those bus rides, though.
If you are legal you have nothing to fear. And, the legals do not fear this. It is made up.
If illegal, you started out here as a criminal. Tough.
Should be made as uncomfortable as possible so they have the incentive to self deport.
Not exactly your friendly neighborhood Good Humor man.
As someone who has relatives in law enforcement on/near the border, this is how that works-the mojado wannabes borrow it from los carteles-same as they have for decades-the cartel member they borrow it from takes everything they have-including kids/other relatives for hostages-as partial payment, then helps them get to the border-if they get across, they are taken by another cartel member who holds their loan and rents them out as slaves/indentured servants to businesses-legal or illegal that some cartel member owns/manages-to work for free. Men/boys go to ranches, farms, construction, food service, etc, etc.
Older women go to food service, domestic work while young women/girls are sold into prostitution. And BTW-that 30K loan never gets paid off-the borrower dies first-but probably not before getting a share of OUR tax money in the form of an EBT card, housing, etc...
ie its working
Great idea, and take the Ukes who just moved into my neighborhood with them. Not horrible people, but I prefer neighbors who speak English. And live on their own money.
Invaders. Not immigrants. They come to loot and scoot, not be Americans.
“Florida’s immigrants uncertain, afraid under new law (Barf Alert)”
Should that have read: . Florida’s illegal immigrants uncertain, afraid under new law)?
Well I try to avoid going to the supermarket, too. Because $$$, and I don’t drive if I can avoid it because gas $$$.
Now the illegal immigrants don’t have a de facto welcome mat in Florida?
Boo hoo.
I’m pretty sure I would be walking home if a cop caught me driving without my license.
Nooooo!
We have too many already
An easy problem to solve. Go back to your own country.
Illegals are not immigrants and should be afraid. They should be dead.
The criminals should be afraid.
I have a suggestion for EVERY illegal immigrant in the USA: LEAVE!
GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY!
WE DO NOT WANT YOU AND WE DO NOT NEED YOU!
We need more people, people with clout, to stand with Trump to shut this down and destroy the cartels.
