Republican Texas AG Ken Paxton is acquitted of 16 corruption charges at impeachment trial

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was acquitted Saturday of all charges at a historic impeachment trial that divided Republicans over whether to remove a powerful defender of former President Donald Trump after years of scandal and criminal charges.

The verdict reaffirmed Paxton’s durability in America’s biggest red state and is a broader victory for Texas’ hard right after an extraordinary trial that put on display fractures within the GOP nationally heading into the 2024 elections. In the end, Paxton was fully cleared by Senate Republicans, who serve alongside his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton.

Angela Paxton was not allowed to vote. But she attended all two weeks of the trial, including the reading of the verdict, when all but two of her fellow 18 Republican senators consistently voted to acquit her husband on 16 impeachment articles that accused him of misconduct, bribery and corruption.

RATS don’t know truth about much of anything. They want to rule everything on lies, stealing and destroying. They don’t read their Bible as the father of lies is SATAN. Going to be a hot eternal life if they are not shocked into truth.

Just horrible that they see facts and vote to impeach!!! REALLY???!!! They would want mercy.

"I think this list illustrates how we can not trust anyone in our so-called “party”. Democrats would never do this to one of their own."

Ronald Reagan wouldn't:

>> There were only 31 members on the committee. Of them, 12 were Democrats. Your list includes numerous Republicans who weren't on the committee. <<

No kidding, because as he stated in his post, he didn't list the members of "the committee". He listed every RINO in the Texas House of Representatives who voted to impeach Paxton in the final floor vote of the House.

Heh. The "charges" in Article 4 were so laughable that ONLY two TX Senators voted "Aye" for conviction, both of them insane hardcore Marxist RATS. Even the OTHER 10 RATS in the TX Senate wouldn't touch that one!

Must have been something like: "Resolved, on May 4, 2021, Ken Paxton did not follow his shampoo bottle instructions to Rather, Rise, AND Repeat the process with conditioner afterwards. By such actions, Ken Paxton has committed treasonous high crimes against the state of Texas and merits removal from any office of trust and honor in the great state of Texas!"

In all seriousness, with respect to 9/11, what exactly did Bush do that was so magnificent? In hindsight, I honestly don’t think Gore would have been so much different

9/11 gave Bush the green light to allow Cheney to weaponize the PNAC papers, launching the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. And how can we forget his war on terror here at home? The next time some sub 70 IQ TSA agent searches you before boarding a plane, thanks the Dim One, George W Bush.

PS: Ds like Gore are much easier to defeat in the ballot box than a Bush. To this day, some conservatives still get a tickle in their lower regions at his name mention.

>> The Senate voted not to convict. The Legislature voted to impeach. They are the one’s who started all this furor and need to hang for it. <<

Yes, but the two RINOs in the Senate who voted to convict need to be primaried as well.

In our defense, we were lied to. We were told that G W MORON was the “most conservative” governor in the nation. And we were desperate to turn the page from BJ Clinton... don’t forget that liar G W MORON promised “no nation building” when he ran. Despite portraying himself as the most conservative candidate, if it was up to him he would have given us traitor Roberts and his personal crony, Harriet Miers on the SCOTUS.

G W MORON will have a lot to answer for on judgment day. I hope he takes a lot of solace in his bathtub paintings.

AG Paxton must now execute harsh retribution. It is war, folks. Lawfare is warfare.

That's exactly what they said about JEB! in Florida. Lying is how these s'bags roll.

The two?

two GOP members voted to convict Paxton: Kelly Hancock of North Richland Hills and Robert Nichols of Jacksonville.
