The oldest institution of higher learning in the United States has been named the worst for free speech in the nation.

Harvard University, originally founded by Puritans fleeing England in search of tolerance, scored 0.0 out of a possible 100 points on this year’s College Free Speech Rankings.

Published by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), the report aggregated the responses of over 55,000 students from more than 250 colleges and universities nationwide.

They are in the business of selling the Harvard brand name to back up the wanted opinions of top paying customers in government and industry. Can’t do that if you allow free speech. It’s a corporation. If you are an engineer at Ford to you get to go around saying that there are much better engines avialble than the one’s Ford provides. Absolutely not.

Why should things be different at Harvard, Inc.?

But…..but Harvard’s Endowment is kicking a$$

$50.9 billion. the size of Harvard University's endowment in the 2022 fiscal year.

The Harvard University endowment, valued at $53.2 billion as of June 2021,[1] is the largest academic endowment in the world.[2][3] Its value increased by over 10 billion dollars in fiscal year 2021, ending the year with its largest sum in history.

From musical satirist Tom Leher, a Harvard grad and academician who also taught there for a while, we need in order in celebration of this dubious achievement award, a sequel to Lehrer’s: “Fight Fiercely, Harvard, Fight, Fight, Fight.”

Song starts 22 seconds into the video, where the audio becomes good:

Interesting tidbit from a member of my extended family who still lives in Cambridge. She said on the phone the other night that all of the Hahvud professors she knows, (and having herself been a lecturer at B.U. she knows a lot), are furious with Hahvud’s administration for their wokery and suppression of free speech.

Why should things be different at Harvard, Inc.?

In part because they are a 'non-profit'. It's nice having non-profit status - particularly when your endowment is over $50 billion.

Harvard is there to train good little Deep Staters.

They don’t need no stinkin’ free speech.

Well, more of Bill Buckley’s adage that he would prefer being governed by the first dozen or so people in the Boston telephone directory than the entire Harvard faculty.

The male graduates of Harvard College of Harvard University are the most self-absorbed, self-impressed, inflated ego people one can encounter. It’s common they refer to their college years as their years in “Cambridge,” rather than their years at Harvard, this affectation a pretentious, pseudo-self-effacing signal that they “don’t want to show off.”

Yes, Harvard removed any mention of graduates that served the Confederacy and now they are the most un-American university in the country...SMH..

The only current value of a Harvard degree is if you want to join an ultra leftist institution or law firm etc. It's basically the ultimate carrying card to certify your mastery an adherence to wokeism/marxism.

This was true decades ago. At MIT, I had a professor who would teach at MIT, but was also teaching the same exact class at BU and Harvard. If you missed a lecture, you were encouraged to go to one of his other times.

I was pretty outspoken about my home country of Israel in class.

He warned me not to speak up at Harvard because someone would call the cops and they’d kick me off campus. BU was fine, so I’d cross the River and go there.
