Trump: ‘I never got … the credit that I deserved on COVID

Former President Trump is defending his record on COVID-19, saying he never got the “credit that I deserved” on how he managed the pandemic as president.

“I got a lot of good marks on economy. I got a lot of good marks on a lot of things. Rebuilding the military, getting rid of ISIS, the biggest tax cuts in history,” Trump said in an interview on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” airing Thursday. “I never got, I think, the credit that I deserved on COVID.”

With much of his political base skeptical of coronavirus vaccines, Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, has tried to tread carefully when touting the success of his Operation Warp Speed, which developed highly effective and safe vaccines in record time.

I don’t know if I did it FR, but ai defended Trump from lefty acquaintances who thought he should have miraculously priduced WuFlu tests in March 2020. I pretty sure I said on FR, that when tests did come out, I would rather die in a ditch than take one, much less the mask or jab.
The whole affair was a tsunami of amplified mass hysteria, lies and exploitation. No doubt Trump was the mark, but he should blame himself for buying it, cause I sure as hell didn’t

Credit Trump for foisting Fauci on us, for the shutdowns, for the mandates.

Operation Warp Speed, which developed highly effective and safe vaccines in record time.

Record time?

Probably.

Highly effective and safe?

Quit lying to us. They're not effective, not safe, and developed using immoral methods.

at least 90% of the credit for its existence belongs to Trump.

Credit? No ... "Blame" is more accurate.

‘...and in anything went wrong in those states,Trump would get the blame for not acting.’

and you’re missing the point also; Trump’s actions in crapping all over Kemp and DeSantis were identical to what the most ardent, hardcore lefties would have done...is that what you expected from Trump...?

“Even if the effectiveness of the vaccine is questionable,”

Trump’s accomplishment was getting a vaccine into production quickly. Scientists decided what would be in the vaccine.

Related: Didn’t Trump consider his job to be to provide individual states with what they requested but not to tell the states what to do?

All presidents deal with crises unlike those before. WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Watergate, 9-11 just to name a few were all novel crises confronted by presidents, and few presidents have screwed the pooch like Trump did on covid. In fact, a worldwide pandemic IS A crisis which a president confronted before in 1918, and should have been entirely foreseen and planned for. I’m sick of the lame excuses.

Trump wasn’t up for the job. He got steamrolled, repeatedly, by the Deep State and is still getting bent over by the Deep State at their will. Trump’s biggest flaw is that he DOES NOT Learn, because his ego is too big to allow it.

No point missed.

Again, all blame and criticism, is after the facts. During the height of the epidemic, there was nobody that needed to act more responsibly than Trump, and all other actors (states and cities) didn't have the same amount of responsibility as Trump and he was being advised by the 'experts', and whether right or wrong, nobody knew at the time which way to go. DeSantis and Kemp had no national authority, and they didn't know if their policies would be the right way to go or not, but Trump had to act on a national level, and if was decided to go the 'safer route'. Right or wrong, we can only judge now, but with 20/20 hindsight.

Credit or blame, are words that can only be used with 20/20 hindsight. It all depends on your point of view.

Declaring Emergencies. Eliminating risk from very risky ventures. vax, masks, shutting down business and letting your agencies spew propaganda and restrict free speech ain’t the way to go Donald.

"My biggest concern about Trump is that he doesn’t seem to learn and grow as a leader from past mistakes. Is it narcissism? I don’t know, but his (apparent) inability to learn, to admit serious mistakes, particularly with regard to the Deep State’s plandemic, their greatest psyop so far that we know of)"

Agreed. I've been studying the way the cabal (ancient religion) operates. There primary tool is to agitate their enemies (you and I.) Trumps weakness is that he is a germaphobe and a narcissist to some degree. Covid was specifically targeted against him. Then Trump was surrounded by bad actors stroking his ego while he was being set up.

don't listen to me though. I'm at a point where I don't believe there is a left/right dietetic it's all non-sense driven by agitators of the Cabal.

Nonsense. I recognized the whole Wuhanic Panic for a complete lie in early 2020. I was right. "Blame" it is.

Millions of people suffered and/or died in the wake of this dreadful mistake on Trump’s part.

Again, that's a judgement that can only be made with 20/20 hindsight. The whole world was looking for a decision, and Trump was not an expert of vaccines or on effective medications.

It's also not know how many died as a result of the vaccine, since millions of those diagnosed with Covid also had prior illnesses. Did those people die from their prior illnesses and then, doctors and politicians blamed Covid or the vaccines?

Mistakes on Trump's part, can only be attributed with 20/20 hindsight, especially since he was not the expert on vaccines or illnesses or medications.

Were you on the front-line of the battle against the pandemic? If so, you failed to advise Trump about what YOU know.

You are the expert, but only after the whole issue has been mostly solved or made moot. 20/20 hindsight is what you're an expert on.

“Trump was not an expert of vaccines or on effective medications.”

Red herring.

Trump has for decades known for sure that so-called “experts” tend to fall into line promoting nefarious agendas and will lie to maintain their income and keep the invites to evening cocktails flowing.

We needed him to protect us and he fell short.

few presidents have screwed the pooch like Trump did on covid.

People have very short memories.

The panic over the pandemic was of a proportion unlike any before. Trump was being assaulted from all side, and he was pressured to come up with a solution, and he acted the best he could with what was presented to him and advised to him. Were you present when all of the decisions head to make were made? You 20/20 quarterbacks will always win the argument. But the game will have been over, with no real input from you, other then placing blame.

He could only advise. He didn't tell them what to do. Kemp went his own way, and so did DeSantis. If things had gone wrong in those states, Trump would have gotten the blame, for not stopping them. We only know the results after the fact.

Cute. But we still have Covid and Covid was used as a tool to get rid of Trump. So, it did make a big difference and still matters.
