Podhoretz: The Disregard for the Constitution On Display in New Mexico Started With the Obama Administration
Truth about guns ^ | September 13, 2023 | Grace Stevens -

We have to go back to Obama and what Obama did rhetorically. The Pandora’s box he opened when Republicans took control of the House, and then particularly when they had control of the House and the Senate, and he said, “We can’t wait. We can’t wait for legislation to pass. We can’t wait for the good, ordinary workings of divided government to find consensus we can all agree on. I have a phone and a pen and I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to do the ‘right thing.'”

And then, having said that he did not have the power to legalize the Dreamers and the people under DACA…he then announced that he did. And he unilaterally did, and then once again, the system worked in the sense the courts struck it down. And struck down other unconstitutional efforts by the Obama administration in the second term.

But Trump’s assault on the Constitution, Trump’s language about the Constitution, that we have to go beyond the Constitution. You know, you can’t steal an election, so we have to suspend the Constitution because they’re stealing the election. All of that.

I don’t think that rhetoric would have existed absent Obama breaching some kind of blood/brain barrier relating to how we talk about ordinary working order and the Constitution was not bridgeable.

The idea that you could do something patently unconstitutional because it was “right” and then maybe you’d have some hail Mary and some court would say, “Yeah, go ahead.” That’s not something that people did until 2013. And now we got a Governor of New Mexico saying, “I don’t think the Constitution applies to my state. It’s not absolute.”

"And now we got a Governor of New Mexico saying, “I don’t think the Constitution applies to my state. It’s not absolute.”"

And a thought to ponder for the Lefties plaguing FR:

When your conservative neighbors have it sink in that you operate by the same standard as the governor of New Mexico, and that they could be imprisoned 'just because' with your enthusiastic approval, despite being average law abiding persons, what do you think will happen?

I think now I can see why Soros-funded DAs want rampant lawlessness: so that they’ll have an excuse to ban guns. Isn’t that the logic of this governor? Albuquerque has a Soros-backed rogue DA. Crime has run amok. She declares a public emergency. They try to ban guns.

The 2nd amendment, being necessary to maintain a free state, is about to be exercised.

“Podhoretz: The Disregard for the Constitution On Display in New Mexico Started With the Obama Administration”

How about Row versus Wade?

How about Social Security being created without a Constitutional Amendment?

IMO-—HOWARD DEAN & PELOSI both should be prosecuted for “certifying” Obama as eligible to be President.

HE was NOT.

Neither is Kamala Harris

Or NIKKI HAILEY

ANS—I also think VIVEK is NOT eligible

Obama’s not the cause, Obama’s the avatar.

The cause is the total division in the US now. Previously, with big controversial issues, we could work out these issues with some compromise, and then pass an Amendment to the Constitution to enshrine that compromise as part of the Constitution. And that would be the end of the dispute.

But we are far too divided to ever pass a Constitutional amendment on any issue that really requires one to settle it. That’s why people are pursuing “extra-Constitutional” solutions, because the usual method has been unavailable for decades and there is no hope it will become available again any time soon.

Go back much further to the Wilson administration. Much of what’s wrong with the US government has its origin with that a$$hole.

I wasn’t going to go back to FR until tomorrow, until I saw a video on that. ‘Can’t believe it, thought it was fake news. Damn the is the most outlandish attack on the 2nd I’ve seen in…can’t remember. Almost makes me wish we wouldn’t have gone the rights of vote/political office. Let me remind you it was a female PM from New Zealand that eviserated their gun rights a few years ago. IMG-8934
