Kemp declares state of emergency over inflation in Georgia

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of emergency for the Peach State over inflation rates Tuesday.

“From runaway federal spending to policies that hamstring domestic energy production, all Bidenomics has done is take more money out of the pockets of the middle class,” Kemp said in a press release.

“While high prices continue to hit family budgets, hardworking Georgians deserve real relief, and that’s why I signed an executive order today to deliver it directly to them at the pump,” Kemp continued. “Working with partners in the General Assembly, we’ll continue to help Georgians weather the economic headwinds caused by this president, his administration, and their allies in Congress.”

The order will suspend gas and diesel taxes in the state. This would be the second time in two years Kemp has suspended fuel taxes.

Yes , I want us to focus on his temporary tax cut because that’s what the story was about.

If we want to comment about how much we hate someone like Brian Kemp ,let’s start a new thread on that particular subject and have at it.

"Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

I don't see how you can ignore the significance of the greater issue to focus on the lesser aspect of something.

Different people look at different issues and people using different criteria. That’s what’s going on here.

Most Freepers hear about Brian Kemp in a story, and immediately launch into how much they hate him for various reasons.

I was interested in what the story was about.

We are not all required to use the same criteria when discussing stories on this site.

As we see, most Freepers would rather express their hatred for Brian Kemp , instead of discussing the issue at hand.

I can ignore the significance of the greater issue because the greater issue was not the subject of this story.

I can ignore the significance of the greater issue because the greater issue was not the subject of this story.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I regard this focus as penny wise and dollar foolish.

But I won't bother you about it any further.

It’s irrelevant. It’s his last term as governor.

In the last 3-4 years,FR descended from the middle of the ladder to being 2-3 rungs above DU.

As the old guard die off or leave, the replacements are lackluster at best.
We’re not allowed to debate here or have civilized discussions, or the FR Karen’s and Dem operatives start screeing about treason or some nonsense.

“ Of course if Trump had recommended to Kemp to do this, it would be an exceptional move to help offset inflation.”

You are obviously an Econ 101 illiterate. Because of Kemp we have Bidenomics, so enjoy the inflation.

Thanks for making some good points.

I have thought about some of this as well. It does seem, that the ability to have civilized discussions, including civil disagreements, is overriden by the need of many here to express their hatred of the people involved.

It is sad to see such changes in Free Republic.

I see reality is not your strong point so good luck with that. Kemp dingle handedly denied Trumps 2nd term? What about Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Guess they played no part.

If you understood Georgia election law at the time you’d understand Kemp did what he was allowed to do by law..you know the thing we’re suppose to follow. That issue has since been changed. That would require research and reading though.

Because of Kemp we have Bidenomics... pathetic.

If you can suspend any tax that fast and twice it proves it was never needed.
