Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of emergency for the Peach State over inflation rates Tuesday.
“From runaway federal spending to policies that hamstring domestic energy production, all Bidenomics has done is take more money out of the pockets of the middle class,” Kemp said in a press release.
“While high prices continue to hit family budgets, hardworking Georgians deserve real relief, and that’s why I signed an executive order today to deliver it directly to them at the pump,” Kemp continued. “Working with partners in the General Assembly, we’ll continue to help Georgians weather the economic headwinds caused by this president, his administration, and their allies in Congress.”
The order will suspend gas and diesel taxes in the state. This would be the second time in two years Kemp has suspended fuel taxes.

Might as well get the party started.
Saves 31 cents per gallon on gas. That helps .
Further confirms that we are living in post-rational America.
It's very analogous to the nullification laws the Dims did leading up to the civil war.
He needs to suspend the Green New Deal.
(From runaway federal spending to policies )
The disastrous Joe Biden Administration continues apace
31.2 cents per gallon of gasoline and 35 cents per gallon of diesel fuel.
This is why he reopened so quickly and drew Trump’s ire. Covid response here was not amazing. Less locked down but many deaths. Economy too dependent on businesses that were adversely affected by Covid. Lots didn’t survive.
You let the voter fraud and cheating run rampant, ya dumb redneck.
Embrace the suck!
Hopefully all Kemp haters here in Georgia will continue to pay 31.2 cents per gallon of gasoline and 35 cents per gallon of diesel fuel directly back to the state for every gallon they buy. Of course if Trump had recommended to Kemp to do this, it would be an exceptional move to help offset inflation.
At the end - the article says Sec. Yellen does not expect a recession. They also don’t expect inflation as I remember... so we should be good. No inflation and no recession - whew! I am feeling so much better.
Well the census was adjusted in time for the election. Perhaps feds will give him more $. Atlanta, NOLA, SF find more people live there than previously thought.
After the next car crash, set the emergency speed limit to 15 mph? And mandate helmets for every driver and passenger...
That is why the GOPe is losing ground with their base. They do gimmick stuff, while joining the Democrats in stuff that causes even further degradation to our nation.
What they have done to Trump & continue to do with Trump is totally unacceptable.
The younger among us must get involved in the Republican Party, and take it over from these very stupid criminal people now in control.
So which constitutional rights do they want to suspend now?
Suspend the Federal Tax... now That would be something!
They hate Kemp for a reason. Mostly because he's a total POS.
Also, most (non-morons) understand high-prices aren't a reason for an executive to declare an emergency.
I declare a state of emergency over declarations of states of emergency.
(At a minimum, this should get me an interview on Fox News and some kind of book deal.)
Yep
Georgia is also the HQ of big corporate entities as well and they are Kemp’s friends.
COVID a mess a top down state of emergency with compliance of varying degrees but everyone including Kemp took the trillions spent and sent their way.
Those trillions inflation generating trillions in spending and debt.
Trump says what he needs to survive.
Later messaging from President Trump clearly blames China and pushes the notion of trillions in reparations.
Its official policy to oppose China right now so Trump keeps ruling elites happy and the voters distracted at the same time.
The same ruling elites Governor Kemp serves and Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis and so on.
