Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of emergency for the Peach State over inflation rates Tuesday.
“From runaway federal spending to policies that hamstring domestic energy production, all Bidenomics has done is take more money out of the pockets of the middle class,” Kemp said in a press release.
“While high prices continue to hit family budgets, hardworking Georgians deserve real relief, and that’s why I signed an executive order today to deliver it directly to them at the pump,” Kemp continued. “Working with partners in the General Assembly, we’ll continue to help Georgians weather the economic headwinds caused by this president, his administration, and their allies in Congress.”
The order will suspend gas and diesel taxes in the state. This would be the second time in two years Kemp has suspended fuel taxes.

It’s interesting to see how Free Republic works sometimes.
In this case we see Governor Kemp of Georgia has decided on a certain course of action.
Rather than comment on that course of action, many Freepers jump in and express how much they hate Governor Kemp, for reasons completely unrelated to the course of action he’s taking.
It’s interesting to see the reactions on Free Republic sometimes. Sometimes we see discussion of the actual issues involved, and sometimes we see people talking about how much they hate someone.
An Executive, whether mayor, governor, or President, can't just declare a "State of Emergency". Otherwise, you might as well pitch the rule of law into the circular file.
The state of Georgia has massive surplus taxes. We should eliminate the sales tax and permanently reduce the gas tax.
Uniparty stoogism resulting in a globalist MIC neocon junta has consequences.
“Kemp declares state of emergency over inflation in Georgia”
If he now goes after guns and forces lockdowns, the TrumpHaters here will be THRILLED!
He’s a POS but I’ll take the cut.
GOVERNMENT; Handing you back a few pennies while stealing from your paycheck.
“state of emergency” is becoming a catch all term for governments intending to breach Constitutional constraints
Exactly.. this was a goodo e for us here in Georgia. He did it last year and we we also received $500 back for over taxation this year.
I pay no state taxes on my retirement here either.
But good actions by someone hated are anything but good actions.
Kemp is a f’ing jerk who made the big steal that gave us Biden possible in his state-I hope he and all his cronies choke on inflation-this is what happens to everyone when we vote for rats and/or RINOs-disfrute, pendejo!
A new emergency while the climate change emergency has just been declared? We cannot survive a two front war. And what about the new Covid variant, too?
It may be time to go into full scale panic.
And any Kemp haters here in Georgia that take advantage of the cost savings are the morons...
He should have declared a state of emergency over corrupt fraudulent fake elections in Fulton County, and then another emergency about incompetent, politically driven DAs wasting taxpayer money on stupidity.
But I think Kemp is corrupt too.
That is wonderful to hear-but is this really going to buy him everyone’s goodwill? After the way he gave in to the uniparty steal?
It’s an emergency — deport all the illegals!
Rather than comment on that course of action, many Freepers jump in and express how much they hate Governor Kemp, for reasons completely unrelated to the course of action he’s taking.
I consider Brian Kemp to be a colluder with the corrupt Democrat system for rigging elections. We've seen a lot of evidence about the corruption going on in Georgia, and the political prosecution of those people who attempted to stop it. Brian Kemp has done everything he could to deny fair elections in Georgia and denying fair judicial processes in Georgia.
He's done a very bad thing, and now you want us to focus on his temporary tax cut?
Your comment reminds me of that old joke.
"Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?"
Yes , I want us to focus on his temporary tax cut because that’s what the story was about.
If we want to comment about how much we hate someone like Brian Kemp ,let’s start a new thread on that particular subject and have at it.

When Kemp's donors tell him to run, he will run.
I think the guy on the right is a candidate for “Upper Class Twit Of The Year”
I live a few miles from GA border. I’ll be happy to buy your Kemp gas.
