A rare and powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Morocco late Friday night and killed more than 2,000 people in the country's strongest quake in more than a century, according to Morocco's Interior Ministry.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the quake had 6.8-magnitude when it hit at 11:11 p.m. locally, with shaking that lasted several seconds. Morocco’s National Seismic Monitoring and Alert Network measured it at 7 on the Richter scale.

Yeah, I live in the New Madrid seismic zone too. If, no... When that fault system uncorks a series of earthquakes like it did in 1811-1812, it will be the greatest natural disaster in the recorded history of the USA. The worst part is that most likely nearly all major surface transportation (trucks, rail, barges) may be disrupted for several months. Ditto the electric grid, gas pipelines, etc. Then there’s the question of what happens to all the river levees, locks and dams, the various lake dams, and so on.
...Allowing of course that the NW US' Pacific Subduction zone doesn't beat it to the punch.

I never want to go thru that again.
