PORTLAND, Ore. — Nike says it is permanently closing its store on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard while saying it remains committed to “supporting and uplifting Portland’s North and Northeast community.”
In a statement, it said it is reimaging its retail space and is considering future locations “as part of this community’s long term revitalization plan.”
Nike had closed the store while it looked for ways to improve safety for its employees and customers. It had sent a letter to the city requesting that off-duty police officers work at the store.
In its statement Friday, Nike did not mention that.

Would it be so bad to say why they actually closed the store? Too much theft. Why lie? I would put it on billboards all over town.
Portland is not very diverse, only 5.7% black.
I checked out the world IQ map, and there are no surprises. It explains a lot. It raises the question, “Why do low-IQ non-achievers blame their failures on the high achievers, and expect to get paid reparations for them?”
Corner of MLK drive and Cesar Chavez avenue = you’re screwed.

The most beautiful street in Cleveland. Maybe in the country was changed to MLK. Cleveland’s cultural gardens.
What would Colin Kaepernick do, other than calling Nike “racist!!” for closing that store?
Shoe desert.
Yes, in Canton GA MLK is in a nice commercial area. I did a double take the first time I saw it.
A sneaker desert!!!
You were ahead of me.
Come on! One final smash and grab for the sons of Gaybama, please!

Just one step ahead, in my looted Nike Air Jordans.
Chris Rock had a bit where he asked something to the effect of ‘MLK symbolizes peaceful protest, action without violence. So why do they name the worst street in every city MLK Boulevard? If a friend calls an tells you I need directions, I’m on MLK boulevard just say “RUN!!”
Nike is creating a sneaker desert.
You never shop that store w/o a kevlar vest.
You ignore the failure of the urban public school system nationwide, the easy (and mostly legal) availability of the mind numbing drug marijuana and the excuse of “systemic racism” as reasons for this anomaly. Look at a kindergarten class of black kids, they are happy, active, ready and willing to learn. Look at that same class in ninth grade.
