The first amendment right to peaceable assembly prohibits detaining or otherwise restricting the free movement of people in the United States, unless they are incarcerated or are charged with a crime.

If the Democrat’s aka “communists” manage to pass a law forcing Texas to house and pay for millions of desperately poor and many times criminal and illegal aliens, then I think Abbott should call a special session and pass a resolution for Texas to have a vote on Secession on a certain day in the future (i.e. next 12 months).
Then on that day, have the Secession election and if Texas votes to secede then all “legal” steps necessary to effectuate that result should be taken and let the chips fall where they may after that.

Maybe Governor Abbott can propose a new law requiring that persons who are required to remain in Texas while awaiting determination of their immigration status be taken into protective custody and placed in detention camps. The camps could be established on closed military bases seized by the state for that purpose. The state reclaiming unused/closed federal property holdings could be a whole new area of constitutional law.
The bill, of course, to be sent to El Presidente since it is by his order that they are required to stay there.
Let fly the lawsuits!
Put a bunch of fancy uniforms on a bunch of people. Then set up target ranges. Use 300 win mag, lapua, and 50 caliber rifles at 1000 yards. Right on the Border so the illegals can see from the mexico side. Then at night just have the same guys patrol in the fancy uniforms. The illegals won’t know they are not really law enforcement. They can wear boy scout uniforms.

Secession would seem reasonable if FedGov I,poses financial and criminal burdens on our citizens. Sending illegals back at gunpoint should become the policy. This is an invasion and should be treated as such.
