Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) slammed former President Donald Trump for claiming he was not "allowed" to fire former White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci, who helped lead the nation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeSantis's comments come after Trump was asked on Hugh Hewitt's radio show Wednesday why he hadn't fired Fauci, who angered Republicans over his approach to masking and other pandemic-era guidance.
"First of all, you’re not allowed. He’s civil service, and you’re not allowed to fire him," Trump told Hewitt. "But forget that, because I don’t necessarily go by everything. But Dr. Fauci would tell me things, and I wouldn’t do them in many cases. But also, he wasn’t a big player in my administration."
The Florida governor dismissed Trump's defense, claiming he was pivoting from his previous comments about his relationship with Fauci.
"It's important to point out for a long time that was not his excuse," DeSantis told the Rubin Report on Wednesday. "His excuse had been that if you fired Fauci, both the Democrats and the media would have pitched a fit, which, of course, is 100% true."
"But that's the price of leadership. You got to stand up and do what's right," the governor continued. "Clearly, he could have been fired from the White House Task Force. There was no obligation to run him out at press conference after press conference, have him doing media interviews."

Here’s a record from February 5, 2020 of Dr. Francis Boyle warning that Covid was an engineered, weaponized, gain of function bioweapon released in Wuhan at a World Health Organization research lab which was engaging in biological warfare and that the CDC and swamp creature scientists that Trump was accepting counsel from had participated with the very biological warfare research that had been unleashed.

He should have listened to people like Dr. Boyle, Dr. Mikovits, Roger Stone and Alex Jones where were trying to warn him.

I was told by a nurse in Dec 2019 not to worthy about it it’s a corona virus, common cold and if it comes to the USA we would thwart it, handle it fine. a few months later I heard she was working in the hot spot states sucking up the money.
People knew early on it wasn’t so deadly, but the treatments approved by Fauci, CDC etc were more deadly than the actual virus, not to mention the addition of shots of varying strength crap the medical people willing gave to people.
Yep and I remember Trump saying in April 2020 that we should open back up and he was jumped on from every direction. I live in AZ and we pretty much opened back up and even started doing away with masks. The ones who kept the masks going were the stores and other companies who required masks.

Yes, he made a mistake on that one. He let the media elevate Fauci and then didn’t have the political guts to take him off the stage until it was too late. But then again it was PENCE who was “in charge” of that fiasco so he would have had to convince Pence to lose Fauci and probably did....but we know what Pence would have done.
Of course you can fire a civil servant. With someone in the senior executive service position a person gives up all rights to recourse and can be fired for any reason.
