Are 500,000 dead and wounded in Ukraine enough? Apparently not.
The Hill ^ | 09/02 | DOUGLAS MACKINNON

Posted on 09/02/2023 10:21:51 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

The United States government estimates that approximately 500,000 soldiers in the Ukrainian and Russian militaries have been killed or wounded on the battlefield to date.

Shockingly, the real numbers are surely dramatically higher as both nations are known to deliberately undercount their casualties. Sorrowfully, those numbers don’t include the thousands of Ukrainian civilians killed or the millions who have fled the country.

Just starting the facts at hand. Trump stuck his nose into this issue without prompt. He could have remained silent rather than remove all doubt.

The Global American Empire

Are you not American? I've never heard an American talk of his country that way.

The only aggressor in this age is the US of A and I think you should get acquainted with the multiple attempted color revolutions in that area.

The US has been salivating at breaking up Russia and turning it into a vassal state, just like they did in Europe when they blow up Nordstream.

I am an American. Get used to the rhetoric. Washington DC is the enemy of heritage Americans. You will be where I am in due time though.

Only the most corrupt of neocons would think it a good idea to risk existential war over the friggin’ Baltic countries.

Only the most broken and defeated conservative would look to Putin’s mafia Russia and see anything but an enemy of American conservatism.

"Russia invaded a peaceful country"

The most incorrect statement I've read on FR today. Seriously you should read about recent wars in Ukraine. Ukraine was not a "peaceful country".

“Russia’s military casualties, the officials said, are approaching 300,000. The number includes as many as 120,000 deaths and 170,000 to 180,000 injured troops. The Russian numbers dwarf the Ukrainian figures, which the officials put at close to 70,000 killed and 100,000 to 120,000 wounded.”

"President Trump had 4 years as POTUS to resolve this conflict."

Trump should have "resolved" a "conflict" from a war that Putlim initiated on February 24, 2022.

“Only the most broken and defeated conservative would look to Putin’s mafia Russia and see anything but an enemy of American conservatism.”

This is where you emoters go off the silly slide.

One can be adamantly non-interventionist and still not be pro Russia.

One can also be anti NATO and not be pro Russia.

But your emotions dictate you put people in the pro Russia box.

Sorry, you can’t be half pregnant. Being “non interventionist” in this case is inherited Pro Russia because that policy benefits Russia’s latest genocide of Ukrainians. It’s intellectually dishonest to boot. Everyone knows what will happen to Ukraine, again, stripped of support from friends and allies. Can we at least be honest about that?

No. That is simplistic and only resolves one side of the coin.

There’s support and then there’s support that’s not support. While the West was dithering about tanks, Russia was laying vast mine fields and building extensive defenses, to slow the counteroffensive to a crawl when it finally started in June, in contrast to last year, when they took Herson at a sprint. Despite that, Ukraine has managed to take Robotyne this week, but it took much longer and was much more costly in men and materiel, and they did it with no significant air power, other than missiles and drones. Remember those Polish MIGs that Brandon nixed? The tanks have been sidelined in favor of artillery. Lots of money has been spent not supporting Ukraine, but it seems they want to win regardless.

I’d rather the kit and training were supplied in a timely manner, but on a lend-lease basis. It was good enough for England once upon a time.

“It’s in America’s interest that Russia conquers Europe? That’s a take!”

It is in the interest of the Heritage populations of the West that the Globohomo Empire be defeated and collapse.

If it is Putin that does it, so be it.

Just like a 12 year old girl, if I don’t hate your adversary I MUST love and support them.

Bullshit.

Childish girl thinking.

Totally bogus. Colonel MacGreggor on Tucker’s interview last week said 50,000 Russians dead and 400,000 Ukranians dead.

The Russian’s construction team spent months assembling 600 miles of defenses unmolested.

Common sense will suggest that the ones trying to make it advancing through minefields and artillery without air support will be the ones incurring heavy casualties. Not the cozy ones sitting behind the lines of defense.
