A principal and teacher at a Florida elementary school have been suspended and placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into an "out of the box" assembly that was held for only Black students to discuss underperforming test scores, the district's interim superintendent said Thursday. "This should not have happened, but it did. And as the interim superintendent of Flagler Schools, it is my responsibility to identify why did this happen," said Interim Superintendent LaShakia Moore. "We do have an investigation that is ongoing at this time."
The scrutinized assembly was held Friday at Bunnell Elementary. Black fourth and fifth-grade students were allegedly pulled out of class to attend an assembly about test scores. Students who performed well on tests were singled out as model examples for the other students, parents and students told FOX 35. Other students and parents told FOX 35 that the students were told they could receive gift cards to fast-food restaurants for improved test scores, and given a dire warning should test scores not improve – they could end up shot, dead, in jail, or on the side of the road.

this should never have happened.
You call all the students who have test scores under a certain threshold, and you move it up until you have at least a few minorities involved in your assembly
Sounds like they were trying to get their students to ‘act white’ and start studying.
Fail to see what they told them that was incorrect.
This should’ve happened. My guess is that most of the underperforming students are black, but surely there’s a few whites who are also underperforming.
But I don’t see this as a firing offense.
“...students were told they could receive gift cards to fast-food restaurants...” like the kids today that are low IQ aren’t fat enough already.
That’s one dumb principal. Call in all the parents of students who are underperforming. Or write them a letter.
Since the article doesn’t name and shame, since the principle and teacher aren’t described as white, I would bet they were black and trying to motivate black students.
Omission tells the story, but the media narrative would like you to believe the opposite.
I do believe I am woke.
Yes, the teacher is black.
“...Interim Superintendent LaShakia Moore”
They can’t help it so to single one group out is wrong headed.
What is the overall race makeup of the student body? Is it only black kidsunder performing but the other kids are fine? Why would that be? Are not both groups in the same classroom?
I know your question was rhetorical, but the problem is this:
Whenever non-black students achieve high success, the schools either cancel Dean's Lists, Valedictorian speeches, AP classes, dedicated "high achiever schools," or National Merit Scholarship awards in the name of not shaming the "other students."
But when it is the black students who are holding back the school's statewide test scores or the administration's advancement potential, then they hold these segregated "blacks only" assemblies that the non-black student achievers were denied.

“English spoken here, not ‘Ebonics’, yo!”
As I understood it, they not only called out under-performing black students, they forced stellar black students to attend. IOW, ALL black students, regardless of scores, were required to attend this assembly and lumped into the same boat.
Not cool.
How does rat party survive without under performing minorities?
They won’t be fired. They will be moved to another school.
Self hating Whites.
